From another thread, talking about what a person's choice in alcohol says about them:
>Oh and craft beer: California republican, socially liberal but believes they're fiscally conservative (until they move to a conservative area and "reluctantly" vote straight democrat ticket), manicured beard, glasses frames fashionably up to date but still manly, works in tech usually a startup that fails in 2 years, claims to be down to go shooting with the boys but never actually does, gets extremely passive aggressive if they think you're being even slightly racist/sexist/homophobic, browses reddit, secretly bisexual, not against cuckolding, kind of person to say something along the lines of "but they're literally anfifascist, i don't see how anyone who isn't a fascist could oppose them", BLM sign in their window, will get angry reading this post, thinks they fit in but are secretly hated by everyone around them, reports businesses for not following covid mandates, anti religious but spiritual as fuck, fucking loves science, "just listen to the experts" while being unable to name a single real expert in the field, believes most of the news is unbiased, respects journalists

While being old and huge in itself I really don't think Sam Adams alone qualifies New England as the "epicenter" for craft beer. The early movement was clearly started in the NW, and then was surpassed by California and the Midwest/Colorado. New England didn't really become important for craft beer outside of Sam Adams until like 5 years ago as NEIPA because popular thanks to a few Vermont guys, Tree House and Trillium. The New England scene has really exploded recently but they are still far behind the West and Midwest, especially when it comes to anything besides NEIPA

Personally I think BA stouts are the best beer around and this style was created and perfected in the midwest. I will take a NEIPA over a shitty California style IPA any day though
