The hashbrowns do look good, and yes, they work very well with a full English. For my book, you'd be substituting them for the fried bread (hyper-calories!) and mushrooms (just don't like 'em). And for tomato, the best is tinned plum tomato, and an expensive brand at that; you really can taste the difference, it's worth it.

There are many different types of black pudding, from the simple one in OPs picture to ones with fancy herbing (mint is great for this) or even the sophisticated spicing of an Irish Clonakilty black pud. Some are boiled, others are fried. I like nearly all of them.

The difference between belly bacon (American fat riddled "streaky" bacon) and English loin bacon (with part of the belly included) is which part of the hog it comes from. The curing process is similar. Canadian style bacon is the US version of loin bacon. Thin sliced country ham would be a better substitute than even the original English bacon, tbqh.
