I ruined a whole bunch of potatoes a couple years ago because of salt, the contaiiner was this cylindrical thing but the top was connected to the actual and and the whole top came off when I wanted shake some salt into the potatoes, needless to say that a load of salt.
Though I tried it was unsalvageable and I had to dump the mess. It sucked even more because I was looking forward to some nice taters. I have noticed that the packaging has changed and that couldn't happen again.
