If you want to learn to cook just watch videos on techniques and then make recipes.
Basically makes following a seemingly complex recipes easy.
Like making some stew is easy if you know how to brown meat then brown onions and mushrooms then add garlic and tomato paste then put wine in and then stock then simmer it for a hour or more.
Like when you brown meat dont overcrowd it heat the pot properly and test with a splash of water, add oil when hot, add meat then dont touch it for like 3 minutes or more.
Just watch videos and you can work it out easy just watch basic skills videos first.

CA used to be an amazing place to live, high cost but high pay, and starting in silicon valley it gave me a huge leg up in terms of earnings. Once it became feasible to move to the PNW I did, I had lived up here and always wanted to make it my permanent home. We actually have good mexican food now, and there has always been amazing SEA food, so it's paradise if you like eating out. Still kind of sucks in terms of grocery stores except for fruit and fish.

Shit... I thought you were saying an alternative to the microwave for reheating food... not like it's your only method of cooking. Fuck you, microwaves suck for anything other than heating liquids. Buy a dutch oven (lodge actually makes a good one) and you'll be amazed by how things taste when slow cooked in liquid.

Yeah, propane is cheaper than electric for heating a house.. I'm dubious of anyone claiming bottles of propane and a camping stove are cheaper to run than an electric hot plate though. That one doesn't track with me.

Get a ham, slice off what you want, and fry it.

You can use it in all kinds of things. Cut into small pieces and spread over a garden salad. Eat with eggs. Fried ham sandwiches. Cut into small pieces and use in fried rice. Or just eat fried ham as part of them meal.

I don't live there, but my choices for career growth in my industry are: move to Cali, move to NYC, move to Chicago.

Only two companies in my city have any form of solid reputation, and I've already worked at one of them twice and left twice. The other one constantly hires and then lays off people.

Eventually I'm just going to have to move.
