Napoleonic soldiers would add it to rotten meat to make it taste better, it would be used as a curing agent and as a flavoring agent by many old hunters who didnt have access to salt, apparently Blackbeard the pirate was famous for mixing gunpowder in with his rum before a fight.


Does /ck/ have any good ideas on what to put black powder on? Any drink or meal ideas? i want to try it for the sake of it.

I have had gun powder hog.
Though it was more of a joke seasoning added to a whole hog that had 500£ worth of seasoning already.

you can do muslim chili with gunpowder.

Recipe.
Mix 5 kilos of gunpowder, random nails and nuts idk from the hardware store.
add a cellphone detenator.
put all in a pressue cooker.
seal very well with duct tape.
leave at your local metro station.

i don't recall ever eating it, but i remember finding a small tin of black powder in the cupboard, when i asked my dad about it he'd said it was gunpowder.
remember him speaking about making some sort of dish with pork belly and another that might be mistranslated through google, but that is a variation on corned beef.

you should really activate the black powder before cooking with it, really brings out the smokey flavor. I usually wrap 6oz of it in tin foil balls and put it in the oven at 400 for 30 min. the result is activated black powder, much finer grain than before which helps with flavor.

A note to anybody in here snorting brown brown, use bullseye brand gun powder or some other powder with a high nitro content as thats what gives it the extra kick
