If you watch a lot of kino should you invest in a popcorn machine?

>> No.15538049

Do you also like popcorn? Then yes you should. If you watch a lot of kino and absolutely despise popcorn, then I would suggest avoiding the investment.

i use an air popper, butter flavored cooking spray, aspartame, and salt.
vanilla coffee creamer tastes good too. also chili powder, cinnamon, and other spices.

I can't imagine that a copporn machine would be more convenient than just cooking it on the stovetop when you need it.

You can pop plain kernels in the microwave without any oil or anything. This is the best way.

>> No.15538239

Most of the flavor of popcorn is having proper salt. Get a salt grinder or use flavocol if it's available. Popcorn maker on its own isn't going to do it.

I work with popcorn for a living. Buy a consumer level cretors popper (gold medal is okay if you are on more of a budget), buy flavocol salt, and either coconut oil or odells canola oil. You're welcome.

can you just dump some flavocol in a bag of microwave popcorn and shake it up to achieve movie popcorn?

>> No.15539896

>>15539859
Flavocol is only half the flavor, the other half is the oil which is missing from microwave popcorn. A proper popper also mixes the salt into the popcorn much more evenly than would be done that way. You could maybe cook it in a sealed pot on your oven in some good oil and then mix the flavocol in after its popped.

you can make popcorn on the stove if you pay attention
if that's too much to ask you can get an air popper, which is a little smaller than a coffee maker. Plus you have more control over how many calories worth of butter/oil you dump onto it

Easy to make stovetop popcorn:
>to large pot add oil
>also throw in 4 corn kernels
>cover and heat up until all 4 popped
>turn stove off and add 1/3 of a cup of kernels
>cover and shake pot for 30 seconds off heat to coat all kernels with hot oil
>turn stove back on and open lid a little once corn starts popping
>once it slows down to 2 seconds between pops you're done
>add salt butter or whatever and serve
wa la comes out perfect every time all the time

>> No.15540900

>get 5 litre pan
>add a thin layer of oil
>heat oil on high heat
>add 150g of kernels
>put lid on, shake pan back and forth to stop it sticking
>when popping dies down, add salt and butter and shake in the pan with the lid on.

I got one of these and a container of Flavocol salt and it makes insanely good popcorn. Fill bottom, add half a teaspoon of vegetable oil, toss kernels so they're coated, liberal shake of Flavocol and you have better, more healthy popcorn than you get ready made.

crank style is best. I like to use bacon or duck fat instead of oil.

>> No.15543446

A half a teaspoon of vegetable oil is like 50 calories. Salt is a necessary nutrient. Only bad when you go hard on it.

A bag of microwave popcorn is around 500 calories. The batch this popper makes is around 250. This popper makes more popcorn than you get in a bag and tastes better. Popcorn when it's not swimming in that shit they put in bagged microwave/jiffypop is an excellent source of fiber too.
