Im not sure of the exact circumstances why except “muh freedoms” but Texas’ power grid is completely isolated from the rest of the USA mainly to avoid Federal oversight and regulations which I guess is alright, except in situations like these. If there was a major blackout in my area, we could request power from NY, CT, most neighboring states because our power grids are connected; Texas can’t do that. Its like flying an airplane without emergency power source.
