And it's a faulty comparison, because you (presumably) like cooking more than your job. If you view it more as a relaxing hobby, then it doesn't really matter how much you save.

The only one that takes a lot of time to prep is the turkey, which can be frozen if you won't be able to finish it. You could also sub out stuff for more shelf-stable ingredients.
