I could not be in a relationship with someone who really likes cooking. In my last relationship, they had some cooking skills which was helpful from time to time, but generally I get very territorial over my kitchen space.

Does anyone else get this way?

I know what you mean but I really am not in any position to be picky.

Maybe you can agree one who has the kitchen on a given day?

it's not for politically correct purposes, it's for anonymity.

Yes, I suppose. I don't know, there's not a lot of things I feel strongly about in a relationship, but this is one thing I can feel within me. I've cooked around friends and to have them simply stand in the kitchen space with me, I feel incredibly irritated.

My wife and I both like to cook. We can definitely get in each other’s way and frustrate each other when we have different ideas of how a dish should be.

Pro tip: plan before which meals you want to cook, which she wants to cook, and which you want to cook together. And when you cook together, just be a mature adult and recognize relationships take compromise. It can be really fun having another set of hands in the kitchen

Yes, this is true. With my last partner, I would have them chop aromatics or do more tedious tasks while I focused on something else. But they didn't really interject on how something should be cooked and were almost always happy with the meal I presented to them.

Other people always make way too much food, then you have to eat the same shit for 2 weeks straight or waste it, and they don't calculate how many calories are in the food so I really don't even like eating it in the first place, and God forbid they decide to make ANOTHER 6 person sized meal for 2 people, before the first 14 days worth of food is gone, and they also tend to cram the fridge to 100% capacity with stupid fucking shit that NOBODY needs to eat.

my mom is this way, when I lived on my own I could keep the fridge under control, but we have two fridges in my parent's home and she manages to fill them both and food goes bad.

For me, I can't tolerate anyone being around me when I cook. It's a horrible trait I wish I didn't have, you should probably work on that.
