wash your rice.

>> No.16329387

this must be one of the most retarded culinary debates of all time. if you need the rice to have less starch for the recipe, wash it. if not, don't. who would wash their risotto rice? who wouldn't wash their sushi rice?
of course in addition to being retarded to begin with, americans made it even more retarded by turning it racial where one half goes
>lmao wypipo don wash dey rice
and the other half goes
>lmao chinksects need to wash their rice because everything is so dirty there

Doesn't posting stale copypasta get old? I mean, do you giggle yourself to tears every time you do it? It seems like such a waste. Why not do something original, or have you no personality of your own?

>> No.16332834

I boil my rice in lots of boiling water and drain once it's done just like pastas. Helps to flush out some arsenic and you don't really have to wash it beforehand.

>> No.16332840

If you're using a rice cooker: 2 parts rice, 2 parts water, 1 part rice vinegar (white vinegar works too). Perfect rice every single time

ew, no. May as well toss some beer in there too. Get out of this thread, idiot. You've outed yourself.

>>16332865
You can replace one of the parts of water with 1 part beer for flavor. The rice vinegar is essential though for light, fluffy, perfectly textured rice

Rice has high arsenic, organic/conventional/grown here/grown there/brown/white/red/black doesn't matter. all high arsenic.

you can cook oat groats or steel cut oats, quinoa, or buckwheat, or various other grains and achieve a very similar nice meal similar to rice with far less arsenic.

>> No.16333003

>>16332975
Washing rice does not reduce arsenic content of the grain. The only way to do it is to soak the rice overnight and cook it like you would with pasta. A reduction in arsenic levels of up to 80% can be achieved this way.

Only in the South where they used to grow cotton. Other places don't have that problem.
