My friend tells me it was because Dominos provided the pizza most of the time but occasionally we'd have a treat and it'd be from Papa Ginos? I don't really remember, too long ago but I guess that pizza wasn't horrible as Papa Ginos is quite good for chain pizza.

But given we had three lunch periods if you had anything but the first it'd be cold already, especially if you weren't rushing the line. High school anyways. In middle school and most of high school we had thick round pizza like that and it was fucking delicious. Our special pizza day was that they'd order in Papa John's or Jet's Pizza about every other week. You know what they gave me at school? A peanut butter sandwich. No jelly. I get free breakfast in the morning if I went early enough which consisted of a box of cereal and a small carton of milk.

I did not qualify for the free or discounted lunch program because my family made too much money. Back when I was in Jr. High we had Pizza Hut in our 'snack bar.'
Pizza Hut, fresh fries, ice cream, Burgers, Jumbo pickles, chips, etc... It was a paid lunch for that stuff but it was damn good.
Then Arnold's school lunch policy he put in place during his Governorship caught up and fucked us. Turned that snack bar into just another cafeteria line.
Then Manchelle Obama's first 'lady' rules further fucked over our cafe lunchroom in High School. Used to be able to grab a Mocha and a fresh hot Otis Spunkmire cookie between classes. After that went into place the cafe was turned into yet another plain lunch room.

In highschool my parents always forgot to give me my lunch money. So I'd end up having to steal a fish or chicken sandwich from the cafeteria. Everyday I literally just ate one sandwich. If I was brazen enough I would go back in line to jack another one.

My mom would give me $10 a week to buy lunches with, but I would just keep it and skip eating
I discovered intermittent fasting by accident as a kid since I wouldn't eat breakfast or lunch at school and just had a huge dinner at home every day
I would spend the money on dumb shit like pokemon cards and I even bought my first skateboard with it
