Big difference.
Mainly that you make Crumpets from a batter, they are like Pikelets which are pancakes, but made in a ring so they rise.

Muffins are made from dough, closer to bread.

No, butter doesn't save it, either. Nor does using it as sandwich bread. Nor does making little pizzas out of it. Nor anything you could think of to do to it that I've done, because the English muffin itself tastes bad and has an offputting texture.

Bongs plz rate this “Full Potatostan Breakfast”.

It’s hard to find places in the US that serve an actual Full English or Irish.
Two places in my city sell a “full English”.
Both are owned by Brits.
But one has the correct bacon & sausage, beans, mushrooms, etc. but has no black pudding.
The other has black pudding but uses American bacon, doesn’t have mushrooms or tomato.
Shit sucks. All I want is a proper hangover breakfast.

Remember that a Full English is not a set dish.
It's a concept dish that provides everything a factoryworker/builder needs to get through the day.
All it needs is;
Meat - typically [sausage,bacon,blackpudding]
Eggs - Can be scrambled, fried, poached
Potato - typically [hash brown, chips, home fries]
Tomato - typically [grilled, chopped, *]
Fiber - typically [beans*, mushrooms, toast, fried bread]
(beans usually come coated in a tomato sauce*)

That's what a Full English is.
You can mix and match as long as you keep to the formula, the further you go from the normally accepted items the more people will tell you you are wrong.
Welsh like putting seaweed on theirs, which is good iron and vitamin C.
Scots like Haggis, which is Iron, Calcium, Zinc.
