A few years ago I had friends over and we had a good ol' fashioned punkin carving, nothing the likes of which any of them had ever done before. Complete with candles and we set them on the front steps for a few days. Nobody cared and frankly after 2-3 days they started to rot and breed flies in the spring heat. Just remember the grass isn't usually greener anon. I grew up in a rural town the sense of community has nearly entirely eroded there just for different reasons. Individual neighborhoods are still pretty okay but the town in general has turned into a place where nobody interacts because they just store themselves their houses at night and then commute out of town every day to work. The only part of the town they physically touch is their driveway getting in the car in the morning and then getting out of the car when they get home.
