Only place I ever complained about was Dunkin’ Donuts here in the south. Ask for a 2 for 5 egg, cheese, bacon croissant and a coffee. They ask me to pull up. They come out with just a coffee, and I ask where my 2 for 5 is. They said I’ll have to pull around and rewait in line. I’m pissed at this point, but do it anyway. When it came to my turn they were indignant and I showed them my receipt they said they already gave it to me. I said no you fucking didn’t. Manager said I’m banned, so I make a complaint with my receipt. Corporate apologizes so I go back. I hear someone say “it’s that guy that made the complaint” and I kindly tell them to go fuck themselves. Not gonna get my food fucked with. Man that shit was frustrating

You have an order taker, you have two people making food, you have someone wrapping and bagging it, and you have someone handing out the bags. Any one of those people can make a mistake and fuck it up.

Long story short, boss was like, whatever, you're fine, just remake it with the xyz stuff he didn't actually order the first time around. Didn't hear any more about it that day.
Next day, he fuckin' ordered some more stuff, same story.
Called and said it was fucked up.
So you know what we did? The person in charge that talked to him on the phone gave him a credit or coupon or whatever, and we got together and were like 'okay, this shit has to be fuckin' perfect, because this guy is really picky'.
And based on the previous complaints, we tried to craft the perfect pie that would suit his ass.
Apparently it worked because there was not another complaint.
Like, no one was even mad at him or anything, we were just all perplexed because we made exactly what he ordered.
I guess it worked? He didn't complain again that day.
Maybe he will again in the future, who knows.
I've never even used the online ordering system, but in there somewhere there's a feature where you can like write a note about special instructions. People usually use it for telling the delivery drivers stuff, like, "go around to the back", or "honk when you get here", but those notes show up for me as well.
If you're THAT picky just write what you want in the note so I can read it and make the thing you want the first go-round.

And don't forget, kitchens are pretty dangerous work environments.
Even with safety shoes, a young, inexperienced person could easily fuck up and accidentally fall face first into a deep fryer.

It's too much honest work for them, even though it's really not all that bad with the proper muscle training, or the high speed stress of it is too much, or they have a 'workplace accident' that scares them out of the business, etc.
There's that stereotype about that and all, but really, the bigger risk is improper hand cleanliness procedure. Not even anyone doing anything maliciously, just people not thinking about what they've touched and what's been cleaned or not.
Like, I'll bet my boots that when I go to the typical burger joint for example, someone has handled that burger with their bare hands and not followed proper RTE procedure. Hell, sometimes I sit there and watch it happen.
I'm not saying that's a good thing, but eh, the overwhelmingly vast majority of the time, it's not going to bother anything. I'll still eat the burger.
Under the health code, at least where I'm at, it's acceptable to handle RTE bare-handed, as long as those hands are clean with trimmed nails and no open wounds. Like, you just washed up and didn't touch anything else between the wash station and the food, otherwise, gloves are in order.
I mean, we both know the majority of food handlers don't do shit by the book, and we're all not dead from food poisoning, so, there's that, but still, the soap and sanitizer is fucking free, and you're still getting paid to stand at the sink and scrub your hands for 20 seconds.
Not touching your face is the hardest. It'll always itch just as soon as you're clean. the trick to that is to use everything but your hands.
tl;dr just wash your fucking hands more.
