There is no one single meal I get more of a nostalgia craving for than my mom's (dead now) white suburban mom spaghetti with the overcooked pasta, the jarred sauce with ground beef, and the powdered parmesan cheese on top.

It's garbage, I know it is, but it speaks to my soul.

Pasta just works nicely with a lot of meals. Even the ones that aren’t Italian. It’s cheap enough. Works with a lot of food combinations. Can be eaten hot or cold. And it stores nicely in the cupboards. It was a staple when I lived the student life
