17991336 No.17991336 [Reply] [Original]

Why didn't anybody tell me this shit is so goddamn delicious?
I've only ever went out of my way to eat lobster and shrimp, but today I wrapped one of these fuckers in foil with lemons, garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil and tossed it in the oven.
Would eat this every day if I could.

I tried rainbow trout once and didn't like it, so I never went out of my way to make or order anything fish related other than fish & chips.

Too expensive locally, 16 bucks a pound. I usually get chicken thighs because they're 1.30 a pound and taste pretty good.

I empathize with your OP. The only fish I ever had growing up was frozen fish sticks, so I assumed all fish was disgusting for the longest time. Salmon is amazing.

>bring to room temp
>salt and pepper on both sides of the fillet
>slice of lemon on the top of the fillet
>fry in olive oil for 2-3 mins each side, try to keep the lemon slice on the top and then on the cooking surface when you flip the fillet over
>wrap some asparagus in damp paper towel, microwave for 2 minutes
>melt some butter and stir in some minced garlic
>pour the butter and garlic over the fish and asparagus

Miso, Dashi, Sake, lots of Sugar, Fresh Ginger. Make thin paste, coat Salmon then bake or pan-fry carefully. It's easy to burn but worth it. Great with a side of mild Horseradish.
