It does for me. Though, mindset when going into a meal matters overall. You're not going to appreciate the various qualities of a meal as much if you're distracted by shitposts and memes on a Mongolian goat steaming enthusiasts imageboard.

I suspect it very likely that the majority of the people on this board not only do not cook regularly, but don't even pay much attention to the food they consume when they do. When you put some time into a nice meal in a pleasant environment, and savor the qualities in your work, the meal is going to be more satisfying and relaxing. Moreover, spending the small amount of time to settle your meal and dining spot neatly can be meditative of itself if performed mindfully. Seeing a visually appealing thing and deriving pleasure from that isn't exclusive to fine paintings and cunny bellies; we should endeavor to improve aesthetic detail in all our daily crafts.

based post. it doesn't have to be a fancy gastronomique presentation even, but when you eat shitty sloppa plopped onto the top of an old pizza box all the time, it affects your mindset. you turn yourself into a trash goblin. if I gave that to someone else, I would feel like I was insulting them.

plus, people undeniably eat with their eyes. if you're cooking for others, presentation absolutely matters. if you're going to make something for other people you care about, why wouldn't you spend at least 1% of the effort you spent cooking to make it more presentable for them? my girlfriend says she doesn't care about presentation, but I know for a fact if I don't make it look nice she doesn't like it as much. respect your craft and the people you're cooking for, even if it's just a hobby, and even if it's just for you.

It was a can, but yeah. As >>18025047 mentioned, the evidence was a mouse which was far too intact despite the drink's acidity. The defence's case included a study on the effects of citric acid in low concentrations on organic tissue (that was ironically also meant to show the ill effects of soft drink consumption).
PepsiCo's defence here was actually pretty solid. They chose to settle out of court to get the news to stop talking about the case which was harmful for their brand image. Despite proving the thing was a hoax, journalistic integrity doesn't exist in the 21st century and it was just better not to have constant "MOUSE DISSOLVED IN MOUNTAIN DEW!!!" headlines.

The drinks are what makes this go from "difficult" to "almost certainly going to end in pain".
