The burgers at this place are typically going to cost less than Red Robin, and they're going to have a much better beer selection. 90% of this board wont even eat a burger that's less than well-done (they think it's "raw"), so for them anything that isn't McDonald's seems expensive.

I'll only pay extra for a burger if it's in a brewery. An actual brewery, like I should be able to see the stills.

I go to places exactly like in the OP image all the time. They're usually my go-to places, because they tend to have a better atmosphere than other places, have a good rotating tap list, and despite what OP claims are actually not very expensive. That said, I don't think I've ever had one of those mondo "instagram" burgers that are taller than they are wide. Usually these places just serve normal 1/3 or 1/2 pound burgers with a bunch of different options for what's on them. They also tend to be much better quality than chain places, and obviously are much better than any fast food burgers. It's basically just greasy bar food but they use better quality ingredients and have more interesting options than your old school boomer bar. There's really nothing pretentious about it.
