Did you get the new dlc? It sounds pretty awesome. I didn't bother with the previous dlc, but I'm definitely getting this one once I get around to playing again.

It's a lot of fun. The pregnancy works a lot better any any of the mods I used in the past and both the new Mechs and the Gene modding are pretty cool. I also heard the next update will be making some of the DLC content cross-compatible, such as adding precepts and beliefs (Idiology) that effect how people view people with differing genes and such (Biotech).
Also you don't have to pay for the DLCs, you just need somebody with the files who can send them to you (idk if you'll find them online, haven't looked). It's kinda like skyrim, where the DLCs are a datapack that you can theoretically just drag-and-drop in to the game.

You should try this challenge run I like to do. Set planet temp to max and edit story teller so a heatwave occurs every half day. Very interesting challenge
