What, vaccines? I'm ambivalent towards them. I run in pretty liberal circles but I don't like how we've framed the vaccine debate as tried and tested science-vs.-dumb, bible thumping hicks. Irrespective of their efficacy and safety, the idea that someone wants autonomy over their body is philosophically sound. I think we take utilitarianism for granted in this country, especially when it comes to public health, and I don't like it.

THIS I can engage. Try giving your boy only organic grain products or even imported from European countries, as they have banned glyphosate.
I truly have come to the belief, after lots of research, that it's the food supply that is soaked in detrimental chems causing all these problems.
I'm the anon who spams the Glyphosate study.
I don't buy into Fad diets, and believe everyone is genetically predisposed to different foodstuffs. This is demonstrable. We know that the gut has tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of years of a symbiotic relationship with it's flora. We NEED healthy bacterium to digest certain nutrients and it's also key to our immune systems. Modern food science has disrupted that greatly.
You can be healthy no matter what you eat, as long as it's CLEAN food,(unchemically compromised for profit.) I don't mean that if all you ate was organic butter you'd be healthy--but if you tried that with only clean food and water, you wouldn't be ABLE to. Your body wouldn't let you. It would SCREAM for what it needs in the form of cravings.
Like I said. (but I bet I don't have to tell you,) Read labels, don't eat GMOs (they are modified to tolerate the AG chems,) and stay away from DIE-T or Zero calorie anything.
I would sooner trust and 80 year old country doctor or a veterinarian than any of today's "Doctors"

Is this not common fucking knowledge, tho? Like... I have pernicious anaemia. I fucking hate organ meat. All the same, I occasionally get strong pangs for this soup that's made with pork offal (liver, kidney and heart). I wince as I eat it, but I finish the lot because I figure if I had this strong ass craving for something I don't even fucking like, I better goddamn listen to what my body is telling me.

>and stay away from DIE-T or Zero calorie anything.
Yeah, my family don't do that shit. Not for health purposes but because it simply tastes bad. And we wouldn't be buying it to replace anything since we have soda so infrequently anyway. Like, I bought a single 24pk of Pepsi last Thanksgiving and between the three of us and the neighbour lady we had over for Turkey Day because she had nowhere else to go, we only finished it in June or so.
The only special diet thing we buy is Lactaid because the missus is legit lactose intolerant. Kiddo and I just have regular ass fullfat milk.

No...
There are so many hormone dysregulators in our food supply that people no longer function as intended. It's one of the main reasons for the overblown obesity rates. Ever see photos from the 70s? I don't mean advertisements, I mean general photographs of people like at parks or on streets. Even the fat people are only 25-30 lbs. overweight, unless it's truly a gland issue. People argue CICO all the time, but the Food industry and Pharma get the last laugh. Foods that suppress leptin cause people to overeat, other foods slow the metabolism, immediately store as fat in the liver or fuck up insulin processing.
This is a big money maker, across the board.
People who go on Keto,(and do it correctly,) are often shocked after the first month when they are satisfied by much smaller amounts.
Seed oils disrupt natural processes, as do artificial sweeteners and the residual Ag chems on most GMO and even non-Organic grains,(they don't wash these before processing, and glyphosate is used as a desiccant, being sprayed multiple times before harvest)
After a lot of these Keto guys hit their target weight, they should be able to eat all the grains, breads and carbs they want, and not gain back all the weight, provided they only eat clean foods and drink clean water/beverages.
>Yeah, my family don't do that shit.
Mine does, I can't do a thing about it. All my female family members are fucking beachballs, and it's not like they stuff their faces. It's the splenda they fucking spoon on everything, and the diet drinks. They can't seem to make the connection.
Meanwhile, I deep fried french fries in lard last night. not only are they amazing tasting, but I'm the only one in my entire extended family who isn't FAT.(well, I do have one cousin who isn't.)

My dad is half American and born and raised in the States. I guess that makes me half American, too, but I was born and raised in Europe. My dad and the purely American side of his family are honey glazed hamplanets and his Asian side, despite living in the US, are generally trim. My mum's side are all thin.
I'm thin-ish (177lbs, 6ft1) and my babymomma is a thin brown woman.
We just cook and eat the way people in our home countries do and it seems to keep us in better shape than other people generally are here. We're also a bit more active, though we wouldn't consider ourselves as such. We just walk places rather than drive when weather permits, is all, but that seems like borderline psychotic behaviour to people here, lol.
The only things that you yourself might find objectionable in our regular diets are that I eat pastry at breakfast because that's what's had for breakfast where I grew up and when we fry shit, we use seed oil to do it.

If it doesn't cause you any issues, no problem.
It does tend to have a cumulative effect however. If you are only eating fried foods maybe once or twice a week, It's probably not an issue. My fellow Amerilards can't escape seed oils in everything, even brominated in soft drinks.

O RLY?
Yeah, I once got into a long argument with a Chem fag,( did top level research at a University,) about Ascorbic acid NOT being the same as Citric acid--he said it was.
This was 15 years ago, and it opened my eyes to academia. I also watched another professor trying to pour windshield wiper fluid into his crankcase...I tried to stop him, and he SNARLED "I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING" at me, so I let him.
I don't eat brominated flour either, so

I assume bottled water isn't the best option and I would have to invest in a good home filter system correct? I am skeptical of the really cheap filters like ZeroWater or Brita.

Also if you have any other general advice regarding food I'd love to hear it. So far it seems like you are recommending whole, natural or organic foods/avoiding seed oils.

But I guess I'm searching for advice that might not be as commonly known or something you have noticed makes a big difference in how you feel personally.
