Oh fuck off, Spanish food is great. Cuisine isn't solely limited to how you prepare food, the ingredients matter as well. Spain has the best ham in the world. Not even a question. They best cured meats come from Spain. Jamon Serrano, Jamon Iberico, it's iconic and delicious. They have plenty of other great food as well. Is it as high brow as Fine French cooking? No, it's not. But Paella, Gazpacho, jamon etc, it's really good, and definitely superior to Northern European cuisine

lots of japanese food basically boils down to something rice based with something pickled slapped onto it and some mayonnaise. it's actually really disgusting. even authentic ramen is wheat noodles with an egg and a few veggies thrown in, absolutely shameful next to something like pho. the stuff you're eating overseas doesn't really represent what they're eating on the ground.

I've only had Persian food from one restaurant and it was amazing. The cuisine itself didn't seem like anything special, though. The only unique thing was that you could order barberries with the rice which I'd never had before. It was just very high-quality ingredients and preparation with tasteful seasoning.
