OK GUYS.
Let's stop fucking around and decide once and for all whom we love more.
Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsay

You should judge not only cooking skills, but their characters, appearances and pretty much else.

Me, personally, even though I love Gordon, I will have to go with Jamie.
His passion for cooking is just unmatchable, and watching his shows I can't but feel like his is gonna stick his dick in what he cooks, he loves it that much.
What about you guys?

Sorry for the crappy paint work, I was doing it while eating pasta with fried chicken strips that I made.

Jamie Oliver is an excellent chef, can run restaurants that don't go bankrupt, and hasn't created an entire media persona around shouting at people.

Gordon Ramsay's schtick got old for me about two years ago.

>I hear he's doing a show where he shouts at people in hotels now!
>what the fuck does he know about hotels?

>> No.3859678

Gordon.
I guess I just see him more on TV and youtube and whatnot.

>> No.3859684

i like that jamie is actually trying to get people to cook for themselves again. he isn´t about recipes and i wouldn´t really cook any of his one to one.

Jamie.
Hard to explain, I just love his energy.

Gordon is ok, he has some good videos outside of shouting at people. But still, I like Jamie.
Jamie in the garden series just got me really good.

This. I don't know why this summer he is on TV so much and all at the same time. I only really like Master Chef. Other than that, I don't watch his other shows.

Alton Brown

>> No.3859739

Jaimie Oliver just seems like a cool guy, and the patience he displayed with that redneck lunch lady was amazing.

I used to really like watching Gordon on the F Word and the BBC Kitchen Nightmares. He is too over the top in his US shows, I much preferred his no nonsense attitude to the screaming/plate throwing. Also the way he cooked/interacted with his kids while raising their own meat was really cool.

This. Although I don't like the whole concept of the celebrity rock star chef, I do admire Alton Brown.

>> No.3859748

>>3859744
I like him because he doesn't really play to that whole "celebrity rock star chef" thing. It's not like he has 8 different shows like some other TV chefs.

He doesn't just teach recipes. He teaches cooking. He's just a clever guy who like to make good food. He brings comedy to the kitchen instead of drama. Hell, the whole reason he got into the business in the first place was because he thought all the cooking shows on TV were shit.

>> No.3859749

Jamie oliveoil is a bro and has genuine passion for the food that just seems to explode out of him somehow. Whenever I watch his shows I find myself wanting to build some crazy pizza oven in my back yard and cooking for the entire neighborhood or something like that.

Gordon is cool but I feel like his shows are less about cooking and more about shouting. Jamie stayed true to his roots but Gordon strayed from the path of a cook and onto the path of an actor or something similar.

Just my opinion though.

Jamie is cool as fuck and it feels like he never tried to be the best. He just does his thing and I who wouldn't want to hang out with him? He'd be a genuine bro.

Gordon is probably the better chef over all, but he also tries to be. I'm certain it's media portraying him as such, and he gets great deals for the cash, but he's become somewhat of an oracle of cooking, something I'm not sure he can be. The man needs a break and do a regular cooking show in his kitchen.

He'll also never be as badass as Per motherfucking Morberg.

not sure about jamie but I'm a former Gordon fan. His british shows the F Word, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and plenty of his youtube recipes were excellent and inspired me to make better food for myself and others.

Now he rakes in money shouting and intimidating people on the Fox network doing reality tv shows and fucking hotels for some reason. I don't blame him if he's being paid up the rear but my, how the mighty have fallen.

Go back to cooking Gordon.

I agree. It's obvious that Jaime has a love for cooking and I do watch his show from time to time but never for his recipes.

Gordon's shtick is very old but his vids from his British shows are pretty good (eg. F-Word). He is an accomplished chef with talent but I don't care for his newer shit.

Alton Brown is a pompous, arrogant, & intelligent, asshole. As a side topic, which chef is your favorite to watch/learn from? Here recently, the venerable Pepiń. Damn he's good.

Gordon for me. They're both actors, both with a shtick, and that's ok. I like neither because of that, they're both fake. But it's tv, it's acting, it makes people watch.

Gordon is a far better chef though: cultural understanding, technique, range. You can clearly see he studied under great chefs.

Jamie is somewhat more of a didly-doo-da who throws stuff together then grates ginger and koriander on top. Even though he worked for really great chefs too as an apprentice. Just watch him go to Italy on Youtube, and get laughed at.

The best series/miniseries I have ssen is the Marco Cooks for (insert famous chef)

It just seemed genuine and had a no nonsense way about it. It also showed Marco before he had Knorr stamped on his forehead.

They're both spreading lies. Local does not mean better quality. I know because I've bought local and it is shit quality compared to the supermarket's produce.

Also, that chicken nugget show Jamie Oliver made was pure bullshit. Who cares that the chicken nuggets were a paste of nasty chicken parts at one time? That isn't unhealthy in itself. The frying of them is so why do you base your show on the paste part? Also it was annoying when he showed his disappointment when the children chose the nuggets over his chicken claiming with his whole "it's sad that the children are choosing this trash over my fresh healthy alternative, it really is a sad society we live in" act. Fuck him.

If you actually watch Gordon's shows in the UK, you will see that he is completely different to the US. He doesn't shout or swear nearly as much, and is actually very good.

Jamie is too far up his own arse for my liking, so I will go with Gordon.

My favourite british TV chef at the moment is Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. He seems very modest, and appreciates the origin of his ingredients.

There's 56% corn in that Chicken McNugget of yours, which makes it (scientifically speaking) a corn nugget. Add dextrose, emulsifiers etc and you're looking at 40% chicken at best.

You're right though, bones, skin etc aren't bad at all. Instead he should've pointed at the preservatives, which are petrol based.

I like watching both but Jamie went down the shitter for me when he was cooking steak in olive oil (not that I hate olive oil, but IMO butter superior) and i fucking lost it when he smacked the steak for like 5 seconds with a split garlic clove and rosemary sprig and told me "it doesn't look like it's doing much, but it's really imparting flavor!".

And although it's been said time after time, Ramsay is a dick, but I appreciate learning his culinary skills (how to prepare fish for pan frying with skin intact, cutting steak against the grain, nice presentations, ect....) small things like that.

Believe it or not I love watching Marco's recipies with knorr. I just replace it with my own seasonings, but he provides very practice and simple ways to cook great meals at home. I consider him a part of the trifecta in my book up Ramsay and Roux.
