I am enjoying a New Belgium Red Hoptober. It is amazingly good. I am going to miss this beer and Sierra Nevada Tumbler when the season is over. In terms of beer, I wish it were Fall forever.

Califriend here as well, as far as I know their are local laws in other states/counties that can limit the size of beer bottles. I can find 32s and 40s in every corner store here, but I imagine in places more influenced by temperance movements of the past they're harder to come by.

Color is irrelevant. I'd recommend starting with some kind of Belgian strong ale. Duvel is good and available everywhere. Tripel Karmeliet is even better if you can find it.
