Don't know what to cook this weekend, ideas?

I'm missing a lot of stuff to make a decent stir-fry. I'm also not too keen on going to fetch the ingredients.

>>4217117

Like bechamel and cheese? I'd like something a bit harder. That's not much of a challenge.

Mushrooms and BSCB are on special. I was thinking chicken Wellington, but that's a solid day of cooking. I'm also probably gonna be a bit drunk, and I'm not sure I want to brunoise mushrooms while a bit tipsy.

Strawberries are cheap, too. So is sugar. I don't really want to do a cake, though. Ex bf's bday is coming up and I don't want to eat that.

Bump for ideas. I fear I may dive in chips, ramen and hot-dogs otherwise.

Meh. Those are fairly boring.

Might end up making something vegan, been eating quite a bit of meat lately. I also had an idea for a vegan pizza, but it involves me climbing to the stupid temple to fetch a few jars. Not too hot at the prospect.

Homemade baked macaroni and cheese with bacon. Or hot dog if that's what you prefer.

Or, for a vegan option, something involving spinach, garlic and Le Puy lentils.

I'll do what I want with my body.

I don't feel like fish. I was thinking of making fish & chips with the tilapia I have but I don't feel like fish. Or fries, for that matter.

I probably won't make anything at all. I'm not very inspired to cook right now, but I know I won't want to go shop for ingredients. That's why I'm asking.

Hello /ck/ this is my first post of many. I hope you will enjoy my input, anyways enough of the introductions.

You should make a Pan Seared Mushroom / Black Olive stuffed Pork Tenderloin, with goat cheese, and a nice Cherry Tomato Lime Infused Quinou.

Would you like to know more?

I plan on braising some short ribs this weekend

not entirely sure what I'll be putting with them yet, but I have a ton of beef stock ready, dates, raisins, tomato, onion, oregano, bay leaf, and garlic

have some corn meal, so maybe stick with Italian style and go polenta and spinach salad

sear on stove top in big roasting pan, then into oven

My good man, that dish sounds most piquant!

>> No.4219724

Thank you.

For the filling, you put a little olive oil in the pan. Saute the Mushrooms for about 4-5 minutes, add the olives another 2 minutes. Then you add some Sage / Salt / Pepper. Stir stir stir. Turn off the heat after another minute. Add a Tablespoon of Dijon and some breadcrumbs so it doesn't turn liquidy. Then when you stuff it I put the goat cheese in, first followed by the stuffing. You'll want to Butterfly and sear the tenderloin before you stuff it and finish it off in the oven (i find it's easier this way).

it's a day or two project when done right
if you're not pressed for time, very fun to make, but my house will smell like it for a week

not that that is a bad thing, really

No not at all, slow cooker is a common way to make it when you are pressed for time however its nice to hear some people take it the slow way. Do you use a Dutch Oven?

have an old 42 qt aluminum roast pan that the restaurant didn't want anymore
had to pound it back into shape a bit, and it is a pain in the ass to get in and out of my oven, but I love it for braising large quantities

:D. And my friends say, who on 4chan know anything about cooking.
