Regional foods that suck general

Its actually the only famous regional dish I've tried that I thought was terrible. Deep dish is great, NYC pizza is fantastic, Cheesesteaks are awesome, and I love all the different styles of BBQ. I guess its my own fault for thinking that a hotdog could ever be anything more than mediocre.

I respectfully disagree. My opinion is that deep dish is Chicago's shit tier and the dogs are one of the best regional foods in the country.

Just a plain hot dog that's seasoned a little differently with a crispy, bright red-coloured casing, generally eaten with mustard and that's it.
Chicago hot dogs are okay, but they're not a particular style of sausage, just a method of serving them. I could open a package of Oscar Meyers and serve them as Chicago hot dogs, but Maine hot dogs are seasoned and smoked in a particular way and stuffed into a particular, thick-and-crispy casing. Then snap with you bite into them and I love it.

>> No.4793897

Hot dogs are one of those things that people are really obsessive about how they're dressed, usually based on regional preferences. It's all subjective, man.

I'm really curious about how people's hot dog topping correlates with where they're from.

I'm from Tennessee and I like my dogs with meat chili, yellow mustard, diced onions and shredded cheddar.

Where are you from and what do you like on your hot dogs?

Hot dogs (würstel/würstli) with sauercraut and/or mustard is common, but in northwest Italy (near France), they put a honey-sweetened tomato sauce on them because they're fucking heathens and should be shot on sight.
Cervelat (another type/style of hot dog common in the region) is generally not eaten in a bun, though. They're roasted and often sliced and cooled then tossed with mayonnaise, aromatics and cooked pasta (cervelatsalat).

It's all part of the encased meat kingdom you narrow minded fuck. This is not just a photo board. I mention hot dogs in the post. Hot dogs and their natural cousin, the sausage are both staples on "chicago" food. To not like one by default drags down the rest of it, the whole god damn city and everything in it. Apparently your father was not in your life to teach you the facts of life about meat.

Your logic is incomprehensible and frankly illogical. I will reiterate my point. Yes, hot dogs can be medicore. However if there are two hot dogs that are a cut above it is the Chicago Style Hot Dog, usually a Vienna all beef hot dog (a Hebrew National is perfectly acceptable too) or a Nathan's Hot Dog. You are apparently that much of a mongoloid to not understand that an all beef hot dog is decent in the world of hot dogs and that your shitty oscar meyer dicks are only helping support your viwpoint of what is wrong with hot dogs.

pic is now a hot dog for you visual learners who are too dumb to know otherwise.
