honestly do not understand the aversion to putting sugar in coffee. I drink coffee every way under sun, from turkish served in a #1 dad mug to an iced mochas frapp served in a matcha cup (did not actually happen but is a cool idea I want to do w/ some horrified japanese people)

but when I put the tiniest bit of sugar (.5 tsp) into a cup of powerfully brewed coffee, I feel like enhances the flavors. just like salt in the right amount brings out the flavor of most blander foods? sorry if this a pleb thing but it is the truth please forgive

Coming from the south the only tea i liked growing up was iced sweet tea. (it's always my cheat drink) Had a cup of Earl grey with 1 sugar on a whim. Been hooked ever since. If you're willing to drop ~$3 go buy a box of Bigelow brand earl grey. It's nothing super fancy/hipster. Most grocery stores carry it. It can be a bit strong, but boldness is never a bad thing.

I find a sugar helps to cut the strength a bit, but if you're not a sugar and tea person then just go straight.

Again, this is all just advice from a random tea drinker. You don't have to like it, I'm just trying to inform.
