yes. JB white label is pretty shitty. The candy flavors come from the oak aging and the imparting of vanillin compounds. The nail polish remover (acetone) smell comes from unbalanced alcohol flavors. It's cheap whiskey.

Better. Jim is a complete ripoff IMO, its bottom rung bourbon with a fancy and well known label. I'd rather drink Old Crow or Evan Williams, and both of those are cheaper to boot.

Get a hold of some Knob Creek or Maker's Mark. Oh and try some Evan Williams. I usually go for Evan Williams black label. I think it has more flavor and character than Jim Beam white label.
