I think I've done it /ck/, I think I'm finally there. I used to hate any type of stout or porter because they gave me a stomach ache and I couldn't drink more than one or two. I think I really like them now.

I always do the mix and match six pack at the store and for the past few months have made a point to put at least one stout or porter in the mix. At first I hated them, then I tolerated them, then I'd happily grab one when in the right mood. Now, for the first time in my life I'm about to go buy a whole six pack of pic related. I'm so excited. Just finished a Rahr and Sons winter warmer, it was delicious.

So, this is the stout thread. Recommend me some things to try. I think my favorite so far is Left Hand milk stout and their milk stout nitro. I also like saint arnold stout, I hated this stuff last year. For porters I like Black Butte porter and I liked the sierra nevada porter.

I don't care much for guinness. Guinness extra stout is tolerable if its cheap or free.

Try ten fiddy stout. Stouts aren't my favorite but I did just brew 5 gallons of Belgian witbier and have 5 more of American amber ale going into keg next week.

Sam Smith's is OK, I don't like the water they brew with though, all beers taste like minerals from them. The Rogue oatmeal stout was decent and better than sam smiths, but that was several months ago when I was still getting used to them. I'll have to track down another and retry.

Not my fave either, I'm just excited I actually like them now. Especially nice in these colder months. I'm going to drink as much as I can, it doesn't really get cold where I live and I don't think stouts are nice for hot weather.

oh yeah and youngs chocolate stout is ok i guess.

rouge choclate stout is supposed to be really good but i haven't tried it because i think they charge too much for it.

I really prefer Bocks to stouts though.

All the rogue beers I've tried were really good, I agree though they are too proud of themselves and charge too much for what you get. I love that dead guy ale so much though, I get that one semi regularly. I really want to try the rogue dead guy bourbon.

What's it like to be a 9 year old girl?

Its fine. IPA hop condensate is like delicious nectar to me, some people don't like those very much. I just had to acquire a taste for stouts and porters. They are very rich, you have to admit.

Been in the midwest for a few months and I've been going back to Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout again and again. Founder's Breakfast Stout is pretty great too.

Sierra Nevada's Narwhal is pretty fucking good. It's a Russian imperial and at 10.2%, one is usually enough.
I'm going to open a ballast point porter. I really liked their imperial when I had it so I'm stoked to try their porter.
I also have Surly Smoke in my basement right now. Hoping it'll be legit.

One of my all-time favorite stouts is pic related, brewed about a 20 minute drive away from where I lived until I moved away for university.
