I've actually never even considered doing this, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Hell, if you use decent-quality beef (grind it yourself) you don't even really need to worry about it being underdone in the center.

Did it end up slightly crisp? I've tried flouring them lightly and then just pan frying them and it's quite good that way. I'd imagine this is similar.

alright so thoughts:
i got lazy with the breading and paid for it. Bisquick and old bay. Feel dumb for thinking itd be good but my spice rack is lacking. Normally i use hushpuppy mix for frying. Thats tge way to fucking go
Ive had this before and it was more of a tempura. Definitely knocked mine out of the park
Fat didnt go anywhere. It all locked in there and melted all over the inside of the patty. Still it wasnt nearly as greasy as i thought.
overall it was good and easy, with adjustments could be great. You know when people put all sirts of onion and bacon in the burger and it always falls apart on the grill? This could fix that

However, they weren't on a hamburger bun. Instead, they were on a plate with mashed potatoes and one or two other vegetables with cream gravy over the potatoes and hamburger patty.

I think that if I was going to eat this on a bun, instead of dressing it like a hamburger, I'd be tempted to dress it like a chicken fried steak sandwich. That is, with cream gravy on top of the patty and then whatever garnishes you want. I'd probably just add onions and lettuce.

When I worked in a concession stand we'd be in a hurry to get the fuck out at 4:00 on the dot. So if somebody ordered a hot dog or hamburger after cleaning the grill that bitch would get deep fried. Perfectly serviceable.

>> No.5420647

I went to a local restaurant today for a hamburger and onion rings to go so that I could get some work done while I ate lunch.

While I was waiting for my food, I casually picked up a menu and looked at it. The very first thing on the menu was "Chicken Fried Hamburger Steak".

For what it's worth, that restaurant makes a very good Chicken Fried Steak, but their sides suck. While I really like Chicken Fried Steak, it can be quite boring without good sides.

I'll have to give the Chicken Fried Hamburger Steak a try some night.
