Airport food!

Mmm mmm. Why is it that even reliable chains manage to suck within airports? Is there some law mandating that all airport food pass through a shittifier before being served to the public?

Italian dressing, or something very similar.

I think it's the lack of competition, and possibly sub-standard facilities depending on the airport.

I had a Pesto Chicken Panini and a Matcha Smoothie from Booster Juice last time I was waiting for a plane. It was pretty good, better then anything else in the Airport (Halifax).

>> No.5438304

Airport food doesn't taste well because when in a plane, the air pressure makes your taste buds less sensitive, and makes food don't taste well because of that.

because it doesnt even 1% matter if its any good or not. they're not going to be getting repeat customers so theres literally no reason to even attempt to make you satisfied. they already have your money anyways.

Unless you have a reason to pass through that airport again.. which is true for a lot of travelers.

I had a pretty good quesadilla at SFO. Maybe a bit overpriced, but it's an airport after all.

SFO was a pretty pleasant experience in general.

Pretty much my experience. They invest more in looking good than actually being good, because what are you going to do during your 1 hour layover? Rent a car and drive out to a restaurant that serves real food?

Idk, man. I remember having a kick ass sandwich in Copenhagen. The bread was toasted whole wheat, I believe... the toppings were grilled chicken, marinated red onion, some green stuff and other veg on it and some sauce whose contents I can't remember. Good stuff to wash down with a pint.

Because no one wants to work at the airport so you have shitty cooks working with shitty managers making food for a hostage audience.

Ironically, the airports bar food in America is often good enough. But their drinks suck and are double the price of surrounding establishments.

the quality is lax because there will always be demand in this super limited market.

British chain for sandwiches. They've got a middle-class demographic. They can be pretty good sometimes, sometimes not so good. The only sandwich I think is genuinely good is their ploughman's but I would say none of their items are bland. They do toasties and salads too.

>>5442453
I agree but I'm like that with most sandwiches. If you get the long ones, though, they're more filling.
