McDonalds pricing is totally fucked anyway. At the one near my house it's like this:

Sausage McMuffin $1.00
Sausage McMuffin with egg $2.79

so you are payng $1.79 for an egg
another example:

A cheeseburger is $1.00
a "two cheeseburgers extra value meal" is $6.49

If you buy the items separate,
Cheeseburger x2 = $2.00
Extra big ass drink = $1.00
Small fries = $1.49

so thats $4.49
you are basically throwing away $2
wheres the "extra value" in that?

>> No.5574036

>>5574011
They do that to trick stupid people into paying more than they need to. Same as how Five guys tries to trick you into beliving that a "Cheeseburger" is in fact a double cheeseburger. And all you need to order is a small fry since they fill the bag up anyway. All fast food places work like that.

They don't even list the prices of nuggets at my McDonalds besides the 20 for $5. I was in the drive-thru and asked them 'How much is each size of nuggets?'

It was something ridiculous like
4pc - $3
6pc - $4.19
20pc - $5

In my area, before they started promoting the 20 chicken nuggets for $5, it was actually cheaper to order multiple 4 piece boxes than it was to order a 10 piece. I think the 10 piece was $3.50 and the 4 piece was $1 or just a few cents over a dollar.

Not a McDonald's story, but I ordered an 8 piece family fried chicken meal one time, and preferred all dark meat. It was $18something. As I drove away, I saw a sign that said, "8 piece dark $8.99." I paid $10 for mashed potatoes and 4 biscuits.

I don't get it.

There are people who bitch and moan about the price a fish sandwich, just because the chicken one is getting sold for one dollar.

One. Fucking. Dollar.

Do you know how these kind of prices come together, what those animals have to endure and - more important - what kind of shit they put into them, which basically means into us? It's gross and far from the "civilized" part we like to call ourselves.

How to make a chicken burger go right? You buy organic chicken, make some nice sauce, do the sandwich yourself and bam, you're done. Sure, it's a lot more than 1 buck.

I have a 10.000$ car in the garage, a 600$ Laptop in front of me, a smartphone that had the same price tag next to me, and i'm trying to save a few bucks on food? Fuck no, that's just plain stupid.

This is a good point. You don't save money by spending less - you save money by saving money ie by not spending it.

Turning off the lights around the house when you aren't using them to save money will only save you a couple bucks per month for example... whereas putting a chunk of your paycheck away will be a lot better for savings.
