Yo, American West-coast fags. Britbong hereI'm planning to go to Cali for a while sometime in the near future, and I'm wondering what the best fast food joint there is. Any suggestions? I hear In-N-Out is really good.

Why do people feel the need to eat fast food when travelling?

In n Out is like all the others. Well no, it's slightly less horrible than McDonalds. So if you like McDonalds then you'll really like In n Out

Going to do the Pacific Coast Highway drive, huh? That'll be fun, it's beautiful.
Anyway, I suggest you try both In N Out and The Habit and compare the two. Even though In N Out is a California institution, The Habit makes WAY better burgers and fries. That's the best burger chain out here. Also there's a sandwich chain called Beach Hut Deli (pic related) that makes huge killer sandwiches. Parker's Hot Dogs of Santa Cruz (which used to have more locations, but now just has one since the owner passed away) is in Roseville now, but they make great hot dogs and was on Man vs Food for their 5 lb. chili dog challenge. If you are planning on driving up to Lake Tahoe, it's an easy stop there. Sonic Drive-In has the best drinks of any fast food place ever. They have a million different flavor combinations you can get, slushes, cream slushes, shakes, malts, etc. My favorite there though, has always been a cherry limeade. Also, you have to stop at one of the myriad mexican fast food places with names that usually end in "-bertos" like Adalbertos, for example. You can't leave California without eating Carne Asada Fries, that would be a sin. Plus, those place have great breakfast burritos. Carl's Jr. isn't really worth stopping at, IMO, unless you want to try their breakfast biscuits. Those are pretty good. Their burgers always make me feel a little ill after I eat them. And Chick Fil A for chicken sandwiches. Hands down the best chicken sandwiches. Get the spicy one, it's the tits. And, if you like fried chicken, you should try Popeyes, it's the best out here, although it's not the best fried chicken chain in the country. Again, get the spicy chicken.
That's all I can think of, at the moment.

>> No.5845661

Not sure about the rest of California, but the LA area has a ton of great burger places. Fantastic Cafe is a pretty good chain throughout the area, but depending on where you are you might just have to look stuff up on yelp. And Californians love 50's shit, so you shouldn't have any problem finding diners.

>> No.5845668

Oh yeah listen to >>5845595 about the 'bertos. They're not all great, since they're all unrelated restaurants that are trying to cash in on the success of others. But looking for -bertos is still a good simple rule to find a good burrito.

If you are going to be in Napa or the Sacramento area, I highly recommend the Squeeze Inn. Burgers with awesome cheese skirts, and great fries and onion rings. And, if the cheese skirt is too scary for you, you can just get their regular Squeeze burger, which is also a really good burger. You have to try a Squeeze with Cheese at least once in your life. There's about 9 locations, so if you're in NorCal, traveling around, it should be easy to find one on your way.

Protip: Anywhere that the people are "white" is as heavily influenced by fast food as America is.

Fast food in UK is the same, in Australia its the same, in Canada its the same.

Only the non-english speaking European countries have differences. Like in France the sizes are a little smaller.

In the commonswealth states, all sizes are the same and menu items are almost identical.

America is no different. It just has the reputation because it started here

Stop by Santa Barbara county on your trip. We have the original Habit in Goleta (with some unique menu items) and there's an In-N-Out across the freeway so you can compare the two.
Tons of good Mexican food too. You wanted fast food so you gotta go to Super Cucas but there's so many amazing sit down places like Rose Cafe or La Super Rica.

What part of my post did you not understand? Are you drunk? I'm FROM TX, dumbass. I may have lived in NorCal for years now, but I'm a born and bred Texan. Also, what makes you think we don't have guns in California? We have conceal and carry licences and ranges and gun stores and gun shows just like I went to in TX. That's one of the biggest things I've learned since I moved here, is that people have huge misconceptions about California. I used to, too. I have friends who refuse to come visit because they think it's all vegan, rainbow flag bullshit here, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, you are right to hate on LA. LA sucks, and is full of fucking retards. But that's not the only place in California, either. Stop being ignorant.

I went to San Diego recently and though we only got local stuff, I remember a couple of names:

Carnita's Snack Shack: Little place, but amazing meat. I got the "pork belly app" and I don't usually like sweet chili but that thing was just incredible. Low to medium prices.

Oscar's Mexican Seafood. Can't go to CA without trying fish tacos. We got three different ones here and they were all lovely - warm mealy soft corn tortillas and lots of fresh veg atop hot steaming fish. My favorite was the smoked swordfish. Highly recommend. Take the food with you and eat in a nearby park or something, there's lots. They also make their own guac. Inexpensive.

Rockies Frozen Yogurt: It's in a tiny strip mall but actually has really really good froyo. Family-run. Notable for filling the cups to double their capacity, so the stuff is ridiculously cheap.

Please enjoy! California is a wonderful place and a big part of my enjoyment on the trip came from its unique, fantastic food.
