i know what scorpion, maggot, crocodile, kangaroo, paper, carton, wood, moss, grass and just about any "fancy" food imagineable taste like: foye gras, "real" caviar, oysters, escargots etc taste like

every single one of those taste experiences has changed me, if even for the slightest bit.

they way i experience spices, herbs, vegetables, meat.. tastes, textures, even temperatures has changed significantly.

By eating really good and really bad food. Most people can't tell good and bad food simply because they lack experience, same with people with who have particular dislikes for certain food. There's usually a horrible prepared dish in the past that made them swear off on that particular ingredient.
