I didn't know north eastern Americans drank sweet tea. I never learned about it until I came down south. Up in the north we had unsweetened sun tea which was brewed out in the sun on a warm summer day and then iced down when drank. In the south they cook it in a pan on the stove top mostly and add 1-2 cups of sugar per gallon.

I was visiting my mother in law in Atlanta on time and hit this place up for brunch on a Sunday. I ordered tea with my meal. I got leaf flavored kool-aid with extra sugar. I almost shot it out onto the table. The waitress got all condescending and said
"Oh, you want it un-sweetened"
Fuck yes I want it un-sweetened. It comes un-sweetened. Un-sweetened is the natural state of tea. One doesn't un-sweeten tea. If someone orders tea, it's assumed that it wouldn't be sweetened. They could add their own fucking sugar.

No the people I've seen here make it use a giant sauce pan. They put the water on and get it hot then put the large tea bags in for however long then pour it into the container and mix it with the sugar. Some like 1 cup per gallon which is what I prefer. Some like as much as 2 cups sugar per gallon which seems like too much for me and I wait for the ice to melt in that scenario to drink it.

What they are saying is if in the south you order tea, it is normal to receive sweet tea. Down south you have to request unsweetened tea. Up north, it is normally unsweetened and you would have to request sweet tea specifically, if they even have it. Or add your own sugar which doesn't work out well because it's already iced down so it won't absorb into the liquid well.

Fine, I am not doing that mess at home, deep frying anything is out of the question. Quality pizza or calzones? Fine. It clings to the sides of pipes like fat in your arteries. It will lead to tremendously expensive, repeated, repairs, septic issues for those with the tanks, and eventual line replacements. If your drain system is built into a concrete foundation, it might need jackhammering up to get at (I know someone who that happened to. For years they poured dishwasher powder down the drain to cancel out the oil. Thought they were smart).

Rental buildings is where ignorant people, like yourself, think that drains handle oil well. Converting a building from rental to condos carries risks for smarter homebuyers.

Pour oil into containers, chill to harden, and then put into your trash. Save your oil container, or an old jar, anything. There are some cities with recycling options or laws for oil.

When I was a kid in the 80s, when we went to Taco Bell my mom would always get a taco salad which came in a bowl made out of a deep-fried tortilla, it was basically a giant nacho chip in bowl form. it was wavy and higher in back and looked like an open deep-water clam shell. the salad was dressed with dollops of sour cream out of those caulk-gun things. You could break off a piece of the bowl and use the SC to glue the salad to the chip and scoop it up.

Any health benefits from the salad were probably destroyed by the deep frying and SC, but it looked really cool, anyway.

This is a common misconception to compare eating this vs that.
Your mother still ate all the minerals, vitamins, enzymes, fiber, soluble and insoluble fiber, basically all of nutritional aspects of lettuce, tomatoes, dairy, meat, etc. Now that was just iceberg lettuce...but in general, that 1000 calorie salad is still "healthy." Be careful about comparing it whatever else she could have gotten there in 3 or 4 tacos as worse. It was probably light sour cream back then, anyway. It was runnier.

I remember the Wendy's salad bar days. Unlike this picture, I remember the sneeze guard being ridiculously low and squatting down at weird angles to reach spoons and see what you were getting.

I forgot how upset I was when it was discontinued when I tried to order it. I used to get one supreme, one baja. It's when I stopped going too, which was a good thing.

Then, years after that, 2010, new CEO, they started that "Cantina" business and for a short while, they had actual steak and carnitas tacos, packed in foil, with a single wedge of lime for each taco. Nice while it lasted, oh but it was discontinued too. At the same exact time, they also had a frozen mango slurpee drink that was topped with a sour compote of real strawberries. Gone! Replaced by Baja Blast artificial flavor. I stopped going. I haven't been back.

Go read his bio, if you never have. His story is linked to KFC, advocating against HS dropouts, and other things you might not have guessed at. He was kind of a decent guy. Reminded me a little of the Famous Dave's story, CEOs who give back, which I always like to support when given a preference.
Growing in S. Florida, this was the home of BK and Wendy's both, really. I found both of them to have 100% positive customer service experiences. It was really a matter of training that was outstanding with both. McDona'd's, not so much. Today, I am more fast casual, really. I get the occasional sausage mcgriddle latenight though, kind of an absorb the alcohol treat, but otherwise, fast food is limited to airports and no other choice situations.

The amount of people that I've met that say they got diabetes from habitually drinking sweet tea everyday is scary to say the least. Most of them say they got it by drinking those disgusting $1 Mcdonalds supersize sweet teas that are basically just buckets of corn syrup. No thank you, Ill drink my unsweetend tea and just endure the teasing from other southeners

>> No.9215947

That's actually very common. When I worked at McDonald's almost half the tea orders were for half cut. Also for the rumors about algae and stuff growing in the tea, at least at my location, were not true at all. Those things drained way too quick for anything to start growing

>provide people with jokes that are based around any scientific study that is mandatory curriculum for students of American public school
