Who makes the best licorice and why is hardware stores in small towns?
No I mean that literally; why?
Anyway, let's post our favorite black licorice.

>he calls anise-flavoured sugared jelly sticks 'licorice'
You're almost as bad as the Dutch and Scandies.
Try 100% pure licorice first before you can spout on about what "good licorice" is. I recommend Taboo brand.
Don't get me wrong, though: I also like anise-flavoured sugared jelly sticks. But it's not licorice, doesn't taste like licorice and doesn't have even a modicum of a similar texture to licorice.

Hardware stores always have the best candy and soda, for some reason. In every town I've ever lived. When I was a kid, our main hardwares store had an Icee machine and an aisle of candy bins (where you scoop and weigh your own). My neighborhood during uni had a hardware store that sold unusual candies and brands of hot sauces and pickles. The hardware store in my neighborhood now sells classic candies and gum, plus all kinds of unique sodas. I can't remember the name, but I bought the best orange and cream soda there that I've ever had.

I don't see how that post implies anger in the slightest.
