Do they all buy from the same supplier or something?

unironically yes, there are large resellers that specialize in chinese restaurant style interiors, just like how 99% of chinese restaurants order their shitty premade foods from the same company which is why every chinese place tastes almost exactly the same.

What if one of the Chinese cooks is a mongoloid? Would that make it count?

most chinese places around me taste different. seems little of the food is preprepared. maybe some of the sauces. i think omst of supplies are just the boxes, bags, etc. most places still cook from scratch more so than standard restaruant.

i've even seen the chinks in the back working on making dumplings sometimes

I've worked in both, it's probable about even.
The big factor is Clapistani confirmation bias that goes
>bottle of Heinz
>this is quality this is what I want lol Hunt's poorfags btfo tomato confit hipsters btfo
>bottle of LKK
>lazy chinks just pour the flavor from the bottle, same shit everywhere

The chinese immigrant community trains newcomers in restaurateurship. The recipes are all similar for this reason, but most chinese food is made from scratch.

Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily call it the ~whole community~ standardizing but there's a definite "welcome over, here's how to cook American chow" factor. For cheap takeout in the Northeast, even as something as basic as fried rice is a weird Chinese-Japanese fusion rather than Chinese-style and needs to be relearned.
