9477000 No.9477000 [Reply] [Original]

THIS THREAD IS FOR THE GUY WHO POSTED ON /b/ ABOUT HIS WEIGHT AND HEART. I HOPE YOU SEE IT.

Also general advice for fat people who want to live long enough to see Bannerlord come out.

Also, healthy food thread. Post recipes for people to use to lose weight and not hate life while doing so.

Eat no carbs.
At all.
Also no processed sugar.
At all.
ONLY eat light meats like fish or chicken.
ONLY eat fruits.
ONLY eat small portions of nuts.
ONLY eat vegetables.
ONLY eat non or reduced fat dairy.

Eat small portions multiple times through the day.
Your daily cap of caloric intake should be no more than 1200 calories.
You should do low impact exercises like beginner yoga, simply walking at a slow pace or things like that.
DO NOT let your heartbeat go above 180. Sustained heartbeat while working out for you should be 140-160. Any more than that since you are so heavy could be dangerous or wear your joints out. If you get shortness of breath, stop and rest until you feel fine again.

DRINK AT LEAST 8 GLASSES OF WATER PER DAY.
TAKE A MULTIVITAMIN TO COMPENSATE FOR VITAMIN LOSS WITH INCREASED WATER INTAKE.

YOU WILL NOT DRINK COFFEE, TEA, OR IMBIBE ANYTHING THAT WILL MESS WITH YOUR HEART RATE.

NO SMOKING.
NO POT.
NO DRUGS.
I MEAN FUCKING NOTHING THAT CAN MESS WITH YOUR HEART.

(IF) you follow these rules you should see a marked improvement within a month and a very noticeable improvement within 6.

ALSO!
GO TO THE DOCTOR.
THEY WILL BE ABLE TO TELL YOU THINGS THAT I CANNOT.
THESE ARE GENERAL RULES FOR HEAVY PEOPLE TO LOSE WEIGHT!
IF YOU COLLAPSE AFTER A WEEK BECAUSE YOU HAVE AN IMPACTED BOWEL AND DID NOT FIND OUT BY GOING TO A DOCTOR DO NOT BLAME ME.

And honestly dude. Good luck.
You need to do this.
If you don't you will die. Probably fairly soon.
>I don't have health insurance.
Bullshit, if you live in the US there are many ways to see a doctor without paying for it.
DO IT NOW OR DIE IT IS YOUR CHOICE.

This seems overly complicated. You can eat whatever you want and lose weight, you just need to eat less. You don't even need to exercise to lose weight, even though you should because it keeps you healthy.

Best tips for the average person other than just eating less is to eat more whole grains, drink less soda, and eat more vegetables that aren't drowning in fatty/oily sauces or dressings.

You can still have red meat, full fat dairy, carbs, etc. Just don't eat so much. People consuming too much soda is probably the biggest issue for most overweight people. If you consume 3 sodas that's 840 calories from sugar, and that's if you're only drinking 12 oz sodas. Some people will drink extra large sodas from convenience stores or 20 oz bottles, and in that case it's like 1350 extra calories.

>TAKE A MULTIVITAMIN TO COMPENSATE FOR VITAMIN LOSS WITH INCREASED WATER INTAKE.

To non-autstically expand on OP:

Anyone with a high bodyfat percentage should be taking vitamin supplements because vitamins become less bioavailable due to the adipose cells in your body. A lot of fat people actually have malnutrition and bone problems because vitamin D is being tapped from their metabolic process by the fat cells.

Studies show that supplementing the diet with high doses of vitamin D will improve weight loss over time. And of course, making sure the body is getting the nutrition it needs will decrease feelings of hunger.

Also
>no carbs
>EAT VEGGIES AND FRUIT
AND NUTS
Eh.

>NO POT
>NO TEA
Especially don't listen to this advice, it's awful and not based in any evidence I'm aware of unless OP is talking about sweetened teas and the munchies.
I've also seen studies that black coffee can help with weight loss due to the caffeine.

Yeah, there was that guy who lost weight while mainly eating Twinkies and supplementing his diet with a can of vegetables once or twice per day. His blood tests actually got better once he lost weight because his body wasn't working overtime with the excessive amount of food, although I'm sure he would've developed issues if he maintained that kind of diet.

He even said he was a healthy eater before, he just ate too much, and that caused him to have bad results on blood tests.

Some people get used to the feeling of being dehydrated though. They think they're hungry when they're actually thirsty, probably because they only really drink enough during a meal.

Someone who has yogurt for breakfast, and soup for lunch and dinner is going to need less to drink than someone who eats drier foods for their meals though. You don't need to consume a gallon of water every day. At least just keep a bottle or glass with you when you can so it's there if you ever start to feel thirsty.

I count way more than one. Let's go through the list.

>ONLY eat non or reduced fat dairy
Don't settle for inferior-tasting variants. Get the full-fat dairy products, and practice portion control instead. It teaches you self-control and allows you to enjoy your dishes better.
>eat small portions multiple times through the day
There is no scientific evidence that this does anything. Despite the popular belief that it boosts metabolism. Eat when you're hungry.
>daily cap of caloric intake should be more than 1200 calories
This is actually dangerous advice. Please do more research. 1,200 is only applicable to short women or dwarfs in general. It is not a universal caloric restriction that works for everyone.

[ ( TDEE * 7 ) - 3,500 ] ÷ 7 is the general equation for anyone looking to healthily lose a pound a week.

>drink at least 8 glasses a day
Drink when you're thirsty. Your body is not an endless well. It can only absorb so much water at a time. The rest is excess that you piss out.
>take a multivitamin
Multivitamins are a waste of money. Like water, only a certain amount can be absorbed. Vitamin absorption is a very slow process. And it is generally recommended to get them through food than pills

It's calories in calories out at the end of the day. Treat your daily caloric intake limit as a budget, and figure out which foods work for you. It's that simple.

There's no need to follow this ridiculous list of rules you've made. In fact, I think YOU need to go see a doctor and brush up on your facts.

As stated, it depends on the strain and circumstances as to why someone's fat. I was an emotional binger who was under a lot of stress and spent my paycheck on copious amounts of delicious food to compensate.
Weed made me relaxed, less stressed, and it actually made me stop overeating because I could 'feel' my stomach getting full so I got satiated quicker. I didn't have as much money to spend on food when I was spending it on weed to boot.

In my weight loss endeavors, i ve realized that you indeed make "healthy food" just as calorific as the garbage you used to eat. Particularly with regard to condiments. I would steam broccoli, then dunk it in bbq and ranch. I would make a nice healthy salad then pour caesar dressing all over it. I would do the "keto" diet then just eat fatty meats all day
Further confirming my belief that the only true way to lose weight is to keep track of the exact amount of calories of EVERYTHING you eat. That includes that stick of celery (6 calories) you eat when youre just desperate to eat something.

Once i started doing that, i managed to lose 30 pounds and reach a healthy weight.

I think one of the biggest miscalculations by nature is making the body lack energy the more excess weight you gain. Who the fuck came up with that? It should be the other way or so it keeps itself in check naturally. Caffeine pills work wonders for weight loss because all the sudden you have all these energy to do every day things, like wash the car or work in the flowerbed, so the weight naturally comes off.

Thing is that even if I am counting wrong, the bulk of my diet is veggies. When I have meat, it's in the form of a single standard serving of fish. If I have another type of meat, it's measured out in the same way and double-checked. There is no way I am exceeding the calculated 3000 calories I'd need to maintain this weight, let alone GAIN. I don't drink anything other than water and the occasional homemade iced tea, which is just brewed black tea with lemon concentrate that I know the exact calorie content of and compensate for.

I doubt I have a thyroid disease, as I regularly get checkups and the worst thing wrong with me is high triglycerides which I have no idea how to lower since I am doing everything you are supposed to.

If you really are counting literally fucking everything that goes down your gullet then maybe there is a possibility your calculated 3000 calories is wrong then. If you've been doing it for 2 weeks to a month and see no improvement then clearly you need to lower your calorie intake to 2800 and keep going down until you actually lose weight. If it fluctuates, it's fine because it's probably just water weight.

Also remember to even count the veggies, I can't stress enough that everything that goes in your stomach needs to be counted.

Well.. Imagine weight gain like filling an empty pool. The deepest part of the pool gets filled first then the shallow part. Now when you lose weight imagine emptying the pool. The shallow part will empty first then the deep part last. Imagine the deep part being your stomach. Nature is cruel like that, not to mention the whole visceral fat vs non-visceral fat.

I would tell you to try some of that ketogenic diet shit since I hear it works wonders for losing fat but I personally have no experience with it.

Just keep exercises you do consistent in intensity and consistent in what you eat, but sounds like you've been doing that part already.

Pro-tip for everyone: start off your workouts, each one of them, working your quads first. Your thighs release a ton of testosterone when worked during, say, squats with weights or in a leg press. Testosterone helps people lose weight and bulk muscle faster. After working your quads, then you want to do whatever workout you were going to do. You'd lose more fat doing a mix of cardio and lifting routines during the week, after you work your quads first of course.
Of course, you lose fat exponentially more when you stick to lifting, but cardio is always nice and good for your heart.

If you're as bad off as OP implies, begin phasing out carbs until you have little to no in your daily diet. This is Kito/Keto.

It can be beneficial, but should be supplemented like most every other diet plan by expending more calories than you consume. Walk, exercise, bike, do something to get your heart rate up. If you're the type that needs reinforcement, look for a class or group fitness program. As a fellow land whale it helped me get started and now I routinely go 3x a week in some capacity (class or solo).

Make better food choices. It doesn't have to be a instantaneous cold turkey, but introduce fruits and vegetables in place of high starches and carbs. Like fried chicken>>get it on a salad>>change to grilled, etc. Make ever-increasing changes at your own pace, because otherwise you'll fall back into bad habits. Make small reachable goals and change them frequently: Take stairs instead of elevator today, walk around the block, etc.

There is no one plan that universally works, so pay attention to your body and how it responds, make adjustments as you go. I with you the best of luck anon.

I generally use olive oil or coconut oil to grease my pans, but I wipe it to coat it and remove excess oil. I sometimes use Tabasco Habanero sauce.

I eat maybe two meals a day. Vegetable bowls tend to be my lunch. A mixture of kale, mushrooms, shredded carrots, bean sprouts, and chopped broccoli. I sometimes cook it all up together in a skillet. No seasonings.

For dinner, I usually have about the same thing. Rarely, I have a cup of brown rice with 6 ounces of cooked fish. Tends to be either fresh salmon, tilapia, or cod.

Occasionally have steak. Always lean, always 4oz. Same with pork.

Fruit is either grapes, strawberries, or gooseberries. About half a cup.

I tend to just drink water, but sometimes (three times a week) a small glass (about 6oz) of prune juice or orange juice. Rarely have about a literal sip's worth of whiskey.

I went from 260 pounds to 185 pounds to 260 pounds in about 5 years. (6 feet tall)

I hated myself, thought I was a lazy piece of shit, and would drink about a 24 pack of mountain dew a week.

Here is how I lost the weight:

I cut literally all sugar from my diet. The most carbs I ingested were from vegetables.

Breakfast: eggs with turkey bacon
Lunch: lettuce wrapped sandwich with turkey/cheese
dinner: chicken/beef stirfry with broccoli and onions no rice

repeated this for 6 months, with limited exercise, and I was a normal sized person.

Now gaining the weight back was extremely easy. I was able to keep it off for about 3 years no problem. Then I went through a divorce, stopped exercising, and started eating for 2 every day.

I am now dating a QT asian girl, and want to look better for her, so I am going back to my old diet

It's nice what you're trying to do here OP, but the thing is that this worked for you and that's great, it's just that some of the information you gave is not to be well recommended for anyone. Everyone has their specific bodies and body types like no one else, so they need their own solutions that start from a basic groundwork of backround research. What you've given /ck/ is the outline of your diet and objectives for losing weight, an outline that is specific for your fitness. It's a great thread but this would really be in a better position on more /fit/ since you provided no real specific diet that you were on or stories of food triumphs, you just outlined without much detail. All in all this is a nice post by you but it needs to be differently worded so that is not to be misinterpreted by those who would truly like to lose weight.
>no carbs
>1200 calories
Alright these two are really the eye catchers, they've worked for you but they're not healthy for really anyone that doesn't have the body to support it. Not eating enough will stymie the process to lose wieght and will allow more weight to be put on. Also no carbs is not feasible in a diet to lose wieght, it can be done but with a very stringent set of diet that would be lacking some vital nutrients that human bodies need. Glad you got your wieght managed OP, and I wish you well.

You wont feel full. Thats half the battle of losing weight. Right now your "full" is a skinny person's "about to puke from how much i ate".
Calculate your BMR, then use the harris benedict equation to calculate your daily calorie needs. (This can all be done with a simple google search). Then subtract 500 from that. Thats how many calories youre allowed to eat every day.
Get a notepad or make a note on your phone. Write down the calories of EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth. If you put barbecue sauce on your chicken, check the label on the barbecue sauce and factor that in. You will probably eat all your calories well before the end of the day. Thats normal. But now you gotta bite the bullet and wait till tomorrow. Its gonna suck. If youre absolutely starving eat a pickle or a single stalk of celery. About 6 calories each.

good luck!!
