Where's the monthly Challenge?? Did it deaded?

If it's still on, and I just missed the thread, here's my entry. If not, here's some actual cooking to compete against the McChicken.

English cauliflower cheese
--------------------------

I took a head of cauliflower, rinsed it, chopped off all the florets, and boiled them for a few minutes.

The recipes I looked at all called for milk and butter to be boiled, but I didn't have any milk, so I just used a 200ml carton of whipping cream that I had laying around in the fridge.

I heated that in a saucepan and then started chipping some good English cheddar into it, stirring to dissolve it into the cream. I chipped off a good half pound of cheese.

I put the cauliflower into a baking dish, dumped the sauce over it, chipped some more cheese on top, added some pepper and paprika, and baked/broiled it for 30 minutes at 350F.

Remove, let cool, take a timestamped photo with a toy next to it for the Challenge, then serve and eat. Main dish is a steak.

Flavor is great. The cheese itself has plenty of salt in it, so I didn't add any more. Next time I think I'll use less cream; despite all that cheese, the sauce was a little thin.

You need to make a bechamel sauce and then add the cheese. Your sauce looks very watery and an unusual colour
