Before storing in the fridge, place a paper towel inside with the carrots to absorb any moisture. Replace every week.

The little boxes of mushrooms they sell at most supermarkets are only enough mushrooms for two meals anyway
just cook with mushrooms the night you get them and the day after and you will never have mushrooms go bad on you
if you say that you don't use enough mushrooms in your dinners involving them then add them to your lunch and dinner too if you have too. Put them in your omelette. Put them on a sandwich. Put them on some leftover pizza. Just sautee them and eat them. I don't really care.
