Is Cooper cooker a meme or does it actually serve a purpose?

>> No.10421967

Yea the purpose is to drain money out of retards

Yes, you put ingredients in it and apply heat to cook them.

>> No.10422014

I do'nt know what "cooper cooker" is, but it sounds like some late night as-seen-on-TV bullshit

Pretty safe rule of thumb: the only things with "copper" in the name worth buying are Mauviel M250, anything by Falk, and anything by Matfer Bourgeat

These rules go out the window when buying vintage

Don't listen to poorfags, copper is god tier cookware as long as you're a reasonably competent cook. But that's the rub - if you have to ask, you probably don't need it

>>10421962
You have to season it before and after each use

Yes, copper poisoning. Better to use copper on the bottom of the pan and stainless steel for the rest. Copper is the absolute best conductor of heat.

Don't do this
Copper + stainless yields nerve gas

Nah, copper core, surrounded by stainless.

This comes up every time someone mentions copper. You do realize that bare copper cooking surfaces are almost unheard of in first world countries? You occasionally see it in specialty items like mexican cazos or small sugar pans but unless you're cooking tomato soup for hours every day in an obscure specialty pan and your diet consists of mostly that, this is a non-issue.

I have some bare copper pieces, but they're all for fairly specific tasks, such as a bowl for egg whites.

>> No.10422372

>>10422354
Ok, but who uses a copper egg bowl on a stovetop? Might as well just use a moscow mule mug at that point.

>> No.10422408

>>10422372
Anything not acidic is fine.

I've got an unlined copper jam pan as well. And that certainly goes on the stove top.

I agree.

Biggest issue with copper is morons buying less than 2mm thick pieces and expecting the performance of something that has 2mm+ copper thickness.

Copper isn't cheap, while you can find sales or used pieces at a decent price, it'll still be more expensive than any decent stainless piece. Attempting to purchase copper on a stainless steel budget is just a bad idea.
