In theory, it was a great idea. It's like those single-serve K-cup coffee makers, but for juice. But it was fucked up in so many ways.

FUCK UP #1: PRACTICALITY

How much better is fresh-squeezed, cold-pressed juice compared to bottled juice? Maybe somewhat, but are people really going to buy an entire device, much less an extremely expensive one, just for that? Especially when one fucking cup of juice might cost you 5 dollars or something insane like that, even if you already have the device!

FUCK UP #2: ENGINEERING

This did not need to be a ridiculously powerful even press when a fucking roller press would have worked significantly better, be able to be made more cheaply, and not require nearly as much power. And it was made with way too much power to begin with. It's ridiculously over-designed and probably cost more to make than it did to sell, even with the ridiculous price tag.

FUCK UP #3: PRICE

It's too goddamn expensive, both the device and the bags. Considering that the bags are literally just cut-up fruit, there was no reason to make them so fucking expensive. Considering that the press does something to the bags you can literally do with your bare hands, there's no reason that the device should be this expensive. There's no reason for any of this

FUCK UP #4: WHY THE FUCK DOES IT NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET?

Why the fuck does it need to be connected to the internet?

So at the end of the day, the only winners are going to be the scrap divers when they find these pieces of crap in dumpsters outside the houses of silicon valley retards and get a free, and incredibly powerful, hydraulic press that will press anything with a small amount of tweaking.

How hot the hot water really is can vary greatly as what was in the pipe pumps through. Unless you want to keep the tap on for like three minutes wasting water before anything fucking stabilizes, you use two taps.
Also saves a fuckton of work and repair costs: these things are simple, straightforward, will last you most of your fucking life with minimal maintenance.

I have. My sister's one of those "women cooking is oppression" fuckwits, and relies on the microwave for all her cooking needs. I may not be so difficult that I can't just chow down hard-tack for three days in a row, but her molten bread products are abomination unto Earth.

Few things are as sad as microwaved processed cheese in bread slices. And that's what it is: a Microwaved Cheese in Bread Slices sandwich. You get a soggy, THOROUGHLY UNGRILLED piece of overly steamed soggy bread with boiling-yet-still-not-really-cooked cheese-remnants inside that lost half its moisture to further fucking up the bread. Your mouth is innundated by the taste of wet grease and the feeling of mushy salt.

microwaved cheese in bread slices has maybe heard of "grilled", but it took it and its family out into the woods and stabbed them into paste. soggy, wet paste that used to be called bread.

They were among the first big VC companies that turned "startup" into a byword for "get rich quick by throwing money at everyone who calls himself an inventor" in the minds of normies. The founders of such companies were not dummies, but they ended up with such unimaginable wealth that the VC companies they left behind turned into parodies of themselves, backing hucksters like Elizabeth Holmes in a desperate effort to keep the gravy train rolling out of a sense that this was their role in the world, to cause magic to happen with their jewgolds

The joke is that you think you are smarter than a hipster because hipsters are silly and you thought of something silly so therefore a hipster would surely buy it. Basically, what a shithead VC type on Sand Hill Road would think up as he drifts off to sleep in his $700k custom made oxygen coffin.

no,the problem was that they completely misunderstood the market, i.e. orthorexic foodie hipsters

the fact that such people are price insensitive when it comes to food doesn’t mean they will trip over one another to buy something just because it is expensive

raw foodist vegan paleo types are technophobic when it comes to eating, they think plastic is bad, branded stuff is bad, and the more a food resembles the original organism in “nature” the healthier it is

its only appeal was to gullible VC backers who get a boner thinking about DRM and proprietary “systems” and subscriptions and lock-in
