My father once made me eat a tuna sandwich for lunch because that's what we were having, I told him I didn't like them but he didn't care. I asked for pb&j which he had but he refused. He didn't want to make two things.

My mother is an ok cook thankfully, and as a girl I was taught enough to follow a recipe and get by in life. I'm eternally grateful. Now I make the sandwiches... Sandwiches people actually want. And I toast them, and use aoilis and shit like that. Tuna isn't welcome here.

When I was 4 or 5, I remember sitting at the kitchen table eating a sandwich for dinner. My dad came by and picked up the sandwich from my plate and took a bite of it. I was really upset that his germs had ruined my sandwich, and even though he offered to cut it in half separating where I was eating and where he was eating, I didn't want it anymore.

When I was 17 my boyfriend got me like.. $50 chocolates in a heart shaped box. I put them in my bedroom after having one or two. My step dad ate every single one, when I asked why he'd do that he said it was his house and he can do what he wants- everything in it belongs to him. My boyfriend probably had to save up for a while for that shit...

Anyway my mom divorced him eventually, I'm married to my boyfriend now, and I get chocolates whenever I want. So yknow, just gotta think about the present and try to forget about the shit people who wronged you. Go make a sandwich- nobody can take it from you now man

neither my parents could or would cook if they could so I grew up on wheels n cheese and hot dogs.
So I've learned to cook to be the only chef in my family

My mom was a child of 3 girls and 1 boy. She was the one that stayed in the kitchen with mom to learn how to cook. Now everyone comes here and eats her food. Roast beef, chicken, coleslaw, anything, they all flock here for dinner when they're in town and I'm the son that somehow teaches my mother how to make new foods. Passing cooking technique down is almost lost today and I'm happy i can do my part.

My spatchcock chicken, scallops, singapore noodles always go over well.
