Never forget; Jack took those ceramic knives back to the store for a refund after fucking them up like that.

>> No.10992495

Wew, never knew that. I guess I should've expected that since he kept talking about how the knives were defective and he could've eaten a ceramic chip (as if that's the most dangerous thing he's put in his body)
Did he get the refund?

jack returns a lot of the stuff he breaks
it makes him a dick I guess, but it's the government's fault for enforcing such lax return policies

>> No.10992532

>>10992476
He probably did it on purpose because he never wanted to keep them. That's a shitty thing to do. I'm pretty sure they even tell you to only cut soft stuff with them or they'll chip, no root vegetables, no meat with bones, etc. And this fucker goes and tries to cut a wooden spoon just to say "oh they're defective I need my money back" but still earned money from his shitty YouTube video.

>>10992532
you can definitely cut root vegetables with a ceramic knife, it's not that weak

>> No.10992561

>>10992543
Well it depends, onions are probably fine but some sweet potatoes can be quite hard and might chip the knife if it gets stuck and the knife twists a bit

I never knew that was enforced by the State. I thought it was just the companies deciding they'd rather take the returns than get back publicity.

>> No.10992634

>>10992618
yeah I dunno someone said in a previous jack thread the the state enables his buy, use/break and return con through law but doing cursory googling I don't think that's actually true

Please be trolling.
You can cut onions and carrots just fine with a ceramic knife.
And you can use it on meat with bones in it as long as you don't act like an idiot. You cannot cut the actual bones of course but you can debone cuts of meat with a ceramic knife just fine.

That video is only showing that you can do thin slices of the harder vegetables, but they're still saying don't chop. They say to protect your fingers or not hurt your fingers or whatever but it's because it can potentially break the blade. And obviously a fucking ceramic knife seller is going to want you to believe you can do anything with it, that's not really who you should be trusting to know what you can actually do with them.

Most stores circumvent it by only allowing you to "refund" with a gift card, we don't lose money that way.
Well, beyond the one cent the card cost.

Your reading comprehension is awful.
He didn't say it cost them nothing. He said it allows them to retain the customer's money.

If you take a return then you're stuck with the returned product no matter what. That's consistent. What changes is what happens with the refunded money. If you refund cash then the customer might spend it somewhere else. If you refund a gift card then the customer spends the money at your store; in other words, it's giving you a guaranteed sale. (or better yet, the customer doesn't spend the card and you keep the cash).
