What's your favorite hot sauce and why?

Mine is Arizona Gunslinger's Smokin Red Jalepeno Pepper sauce.

For me it's the perfect kind of hot sauce because it's as hot as I want it, and it has a lot of flavor. It's also a little smokey which is a nice touch to it. I mostly put it on pizza and eggs, occasionally hash browns and bacon too.

tapatio, valentina, tabasco as vinegar, aardvark.

i base my preferences on flavor profile and versatility rather than spiciness.
tapatio/valentina - citrusy, vinegary, good for serving on meals/chips, fried food like chicken fries, or pizza.
tabasco - vinegar, use for cooking soups, stews, fish, stir fry.
aardvard - garlicy, spices, tomato and peppers. wholesome experience, use in marinating sauces, and serve in things like sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, bruchettas, toast, crackers, or things that require bread (since it soaks up most of taste of other sauces)

Frank's Red Hot is probably my favorite. I did just buy some 'vark today though, so we'll see how that goes. Hoping I didn't get bamboozled out of $7 for meme cucksauce.

Have you tried that one from Arizona Gunslinger? Is it good? Sometimes I find that habenero hot sauces are too hot for it to be enjoyable to me.

Yes there are different kinds, the jalapeno one isn't even considered hot

Sometimes when I run out of this stuff I buy this in the meantime, which is also good and pretty easily available in most grocery stores.

I just made an order on the website, got 3 for 15 dollars, and 7 dollars shipping, was cheaper than if I got it from amazon.

I think it's kind of hot but not too hot. I'll have to buy another variety next time I make an order.

solid heat, excellent flavor. the price is the only problem. very easy to empty a bottle in the span of a few days. it's one of the hotter non-extract sauces and i'll shill it til the cows come home. it's particularly great on pasta

I really want to, but I just don't have a whole lot of time to dedicate to awesome projects like that. Is it simple enough? I've only barely looked into it, but it does interest me. What would I use to add a slight smokey flavor to it?

>> No.10998903

>>10998887
it's like 9 bucks for 5oz
depending on your tolerance for heat, it could last a long while. i'd recommend getting it regardless. what they're doing with the flavor in this is amazing and the texture is perfect with lots of little bits floating in it.
it's 7-pot primos and scorpion peppers, not reapers as the name might suggest. and those peppers are the first two ingredients. not water or vinegar.

>> No.10998920

>>10998903
Oh wow seems pretty hot, but 9 bucks isn't that bad, it's about the price of the pepper sauce in the OP pic on amazon. Although I get it directly from the maker now and save a few bucks, no free shipping but it still comes out to less.

crystal is better
but these lousiana sauces are too vinegar-forward to be any good in my book
>>10998920
i suppose it isn't too pricey, relatively-speaking. but my main thing is that the mark-up on "artisan" pepper sauces is just wacky. but despite making my own sauces and growing my own superhots for years now, i can't make a better sauce that some of them, even when directly attempting to copy, so i buy

one cheap sauce that i absolutely love is pic related. no vinegar, smoked habs, very unique and almost gritty texture, and it's cheap as fuck. they make some kinda gross sauces, but this one is a winner and i drink a bottle every few days, rarely using it on food
