just bought a french press and discovered this really cool pale ale at my local organic market. But I want to step my food game up. Are there any foods that taste like dirt or licking a 9v battery that I can be snobby over too?

Most traditional europoor food tastes like dirt (start with turnips). Coffee can taste like dirt if you're an idiot, but you made a good first step buying a French press. Local organic meme markets aren't the place to buy beer; they usually want to push some homebrew gluten free shit, and gluten free beer isn't really beer. Just go to the regular market and try a basic IPA with good reviews on RB or BA. If you want to lick a 9v batter I'd recommend Sichuan, or better yet getting some fresh sansho peppercorns. I'm not sure what being snobby has anything to do with any of that, but if snobbery is what you're going for I'd recommend getting a job and spending all your disposable income going to to wine bars.

I made coffee today by boiling water in a saucepan, and then dumping coffee grounds into it. Stirred it up nice. Let it soak a couple minutes. Poured it through a strainer into mah cup.
