I wonder if anybody has made a bot that scans recipe websites and just hides all the non-recipe content.

I might give it a shot, just need a sizable dataset of these useless anecdotes tacked to the front of every recipe.

They almost always have the actual recipe as a separate page component. It wouldn't be hard to program something to just scan for numbers and ingredient bullets.

Its because Google and other search engines require you to have as much uneccesaaru content as possible to show up in front page

More content=more places in page to put ads=more revenue for Joogle

Yeah, you're right. Looks like a lot of them use the wordpress recipe maker plugin, there's almost always some kind of recipe container class used to hold the actual recipe, might be feasible to make something that can pull the recipe successfully in the vast majority of cases.

I started browsing 4chan in 2013. I was following the Trayvon Martin case on youtube, and I saw comments mentioning /pol/. My interest piqued, I decided to visit /pol/. I was entranced by the memes. Absolutely hilarious. Soon I frequented /pol/ every day. Eventually I started to wander onto different boards. I really like /an/, and made some comments and threads about budgie parakeet care. Then I found /ck/, and everything changed.

Anyway, long story short: the McChicken.

That's so true. It reminds me of when I was talking with my grandfather about which raisins were best, and I said it was Thompson, but he was a steadfast sultana raisin man, speaking of sultans, did you ever hear Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits? Man, such a good tune. My dad always listened to Dire Straits while working on his F-150. Always was a Ford man, but I was more a fan of MOPAR, with the exception of Pontiac. I liked Pontiac because they were always trying to one-up Chevy, to the point it cost them the ability to make sports cars. They made the Fiero to outperform the Corvette in every way, but at the last minute the execs pulled the engine from the Fiero and gave it to the Corvette, because Chevy was so butthurt about something potentially being on par with the Corvette. I was never really big on the Fiero, but I loved the Trans Am, at least gen 1/2, specifically 1979. Probably because I watched Smokey and the Bandit too much growing up. Did you know that Jerry Reed, who plays the guy driving the truck (with the basset hound) actually sang the songs like Eastbound and Down from the score? He was a great actor, shame he wasn't in much else. Anyway, I still think Thompson is the best, as long as you get good quality ones and not super dehydrated ones. I think that's why my grandpa was a fan of sultanas, they're usually processed better and are "juicier" than the standard box of Thompson raisins.
