What's a real authentic gourmet burger taste like? Are they the best burgers above all other burgers? Is the hype real? Tell us about your favorite burgers

>> No.11217834

That's just a regular burger, but with the patty made with a shitty ton of barbecue sauce.

cheese on bottom veggie on top?
So grease doesn’t soak your veggie and cheese shields your hopefully toasted bun from becoming soggy?

Why would you not want grease soaked veggies though?

Just made a recipe last night that is still sitting in my gut, from the feel of it.

Saute some mushrooms, set em to the side.
Smash 1/4 lb of ground beef into a patty
Load the top with a shit-load of cheese, whatever you like
Smash another 1/4 lb of beef on top, and seal up the edges
Cook that shit until it's done as you like
While on the grill, throw the mushrooms on top
Cover it all with another slice of cheese
Top with basil pesto (fight me)

I toast my buns while cooking, do whatever the fuck you want.

Shit was heaven.

Ghetto Juicy Lucy, yes. Not everyone has heard of it, so congrats (on being so much better than us, I guess?).

On pesto, if you prefer mayonnaise on yours, by all means, but if you associate burger toppings with homosexuality, I worry about your mental health.

Cheese on top of patty, vegetables on top of that. You can put a bit of sauce on the bottom bun, but anything underneath the patty means that's what you're going to be tasting first. So you're going to be tasting any vegetables before the meat when they're underneath, masking the main part of the burger.

The problem with really thicc burger patties like that is that they're impossible to eat without looking a savage. I understand that the thiker meat hold juices/flavors better than a thinner patty, but you take one bite of the thick burger and all the stuff comes oozing out the back, all over your plate. Cook a thin patty of the same quantity of meat and use a wider bun. If you cook it on a very hot skillet and practice a bit, you can sear the hell out of it and still keep it nice inside. And you can actually eat it without needing a Silkwood shower.

Years ago, one of the casual chains (Bennigan's maybe?) had a burger that had a wheel of fried cheese on it. Much like your abomination, but it was a one-piece wheel that covered most of the burger. In lieu of ketchup or other traditional toppings/condiments, they put marinara on top of the cheese wheel.

It was awful.

peoples problems with "juicy burgers" is they never let them rest properly before putting on a bun and eating. let the fucker cool down so it won't ruin your bun, and then you gently hold it while taking a bite so you don't squeeze it

>> No.11219424

>>11219393
Many years ago Bennigans did indeed have a burger called the "wheelhouse" which had a fried wheel of cheese on it. However there was not any marinara involved. I know it well since one of my buddies and I would sometimes get them back when were in college. Perhaps there was another chain which did the marinara but that wasn't Bennigans.
