I mean no, there is a good point. Why would you care about inhumane treatment of nonhumans? They're food. We allow their continued existence so they can fill our bellies. It is quite literally the reason a lot of meat animals are allowed to live.

humane
/hjʊˈmeJn/Verzenden
adjective
1.
having or showing compassion or benevolence.

Yes, well:
Benevolence (Noun; Mass Noun)
1. The quality of being well-meaning; kindness.
So if you unironically think that animals, which are permitted to exist at all to be eaten and would simply be relegated to zoos for our viewing pleasure, are capable of being the subjects of benevolence, then I'm not sure you're right in the head. The fact is that they exist for our expediency, and even if we weren't going to eat them we'd just use them in other ways.

Compassion (Noun; Mass Noun)
1. Sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.
Sympathy is something you can only give or receive to/from sympathetic subjects, that is to say like subjects. Animals are not 'like'. They are 'below'.
