I like doing fried rice, homemade pizza, pieces of chicken, singapore noodle with vegetables, salads, pureed fruit and vegetable. I spend about 2 hours on Sunday and have meals figured out for the whole week usually, sometimes on friday i'll buy lunch instead.

don't really need recipes, just think of something you might not be sick of eating 2 days in a row. if you work some soft job that has 8 hours or less of work in the day, you really don't need to eat at all, since that's over so quickly. If i'm doing a rare 8 hour day, i'll usually eat a piece of fruit in the morning, and coffee around lunchtime. Dont forget to drink water, usually that's enough to keep me from feeling hungry

Lol.

There is a type of bacteria that can live on rice that uses spores, you can't destroy spores with cooking (well you can, but the rice would be pretty charred), so it means that the bacteria can very quickly grow after cooking, this means you need to rapidly chill rice if you want to reheat it/serve it cold and generally you have to use it sooner than other cooked foods.
There is no such thing as bacteria that isn't slowed by cold.

Now granted this is obviously not super common, but you still need to be aware of it in kitchens where you are supposed to minimise risk.

'Meal prepping' just means cooking a large batch of food a week in advance, and portioning it for convenience
It's not a stupid or redundant term, because it refers to a more specific thing than just preparing meals or taking leftovers.
It absolutely makes sense for time poor people, anyone trying to lose weight, people trying to save money and stop buying lunches or just anyone really.
There are lots of good meals which will keep well for 5 days in the fridge or freezer. Hardy vegetables like carrots or broccoli for sure will stand up to that, as will rice, pasta, potatos, most meats, any stew or curry (although reheating these is a smells issue). It's not 7 days because most people don't work on the weekend. Lots of people do 4 days and then buy food on friday. Like both the pictures ITT.
I don't understand why you're so scornful of this.

You can for sure eat well like this. Just because people flexing it on instagram or whatever like the pics ITT do it badly doesn't mean it's a bad practice.

>>11809853
Cold steak is actually good, if it's lean enough, you just have to slice it really thinly, and dress it (i do soy, rice wine vinegar, sugar, chilli, sesame oil & toasted sesame seeds). But that too would be better if it was sliced fresh each day. A cold chicken kebab is nice i guess. But that brocolli looks like a boring chore which it doesn't have to be. If you're already grilling, toss it in oil, season it and grill it. Or make a stirfry so the chicken flavours the broccoli.

Let's all stand and applaud you on Friday for eating nearly week old chicken. What a thrill! What a life! Not to mention a wasted Sunday cooking and packaging your food. Sounds like a super fun life.
