Indulging in Solitute

Listening to George Thorogood and the Destroyers song "I Drink Alone," and it's really got me thinking. Well, as much as I can at the moment. I scraped together a shot from all the empties with a trick I learned about putting your bottles by a heat source and by some magic fuckery it summons some few drops via condensation or some shit. Getting pants on to walk to the liquor store since my paycheck just came in.

Anyway, I almost always drink alone, but it wasn't always this way. I first started drinking for real with a group of some serious Iron Liver sons of bitches. I'm amazed to this day that my sixteen year-old self survived it at that time. Now I'm twenty-six and I'm strangely feeling a need for that same comradery.

Everyone in this new state I now live in (I moved from WV to SC) is so reserved in their drinking. So cautious and pussy-footed, and so judgemental of anyone who actually drinks to get drunk. I've been struggling for months to find someone else who drinks to the degree that I do.

Someone who just wants to just listen to music and chill outside by the fire, throw up, cook and eat good food with me, and then continue drinking straight into sweet oblivion with me. Someone who will sit outside with me the next morning both laughing and puking, smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee with hair of the dog and laughing about how shitty we feel and how we're gonna scrape the money together to do it again that night.

I guess until I do, I'll keep drinking alone. I don't mind my own company, but the lonliness is getting to me today. Have one with me in spirit, you fuckers <3
